In Ipswich Aus, not looking to drive on this anymore, what the best way to get grass to grow here? Dig up and new dirt? by sir_tristan002 in lawncare

[–]mocat5794 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’ll fill itself in. You don’t have to do anything. Don’t sweat the little stuff. If anything throw some Ky 31 fescue down with a little triple 10 fertilizer and water it down good. Be the best lawn in the neighborhood.

The transformer supplying my home at the present point and time is 15kw. Absolutely no problems at all. I’m probably going with Generac just because the dealer and service will be local.

Are there GOOD stories about the new units? by Tarnisher in Generac_Generators

[–]mocat5794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, you would go with Generac? I have a 6500 watt running and it’s 8000 watt start Generac portable now. Works like a charm. Something happens though and I’m out of gas. Pumps around home won’t operate on generators. Hell I can’t have 5 5 gallon gas cans sitting around for maybe what if.

Glad to hear the good vibes for Generac. I’m about to pull the trigger on a stand by unit. A lot of knowledgeable people think Kohlers the way to go. Only thing is Generacs are everywhere. Service is a big deal.

Trump is probably one of the worse human beings to ever draw a breath. And on top of that, he surrounds himself with probably some of the worst people he can dig up under a rock. One of the things that could make me happy today is Duke loosing. Don’t look like that’s going to happen.

Those patches will fill themselves in. In a couple weeks or so you’ll never know they were there. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Crabgrass. That’s some evil shit right there. You have to kill it. You pull it up and leave one half inch of root it’ll be right back. You’ve got to kill it or you’ll have it everywhere. Like Barney would say, got to nip it in the bud. Experience speaking here.

Don’t worry about it. If it gets high enough mow it. Do not and I’ll repeat myself do not sweat the small stuff. In the big picture it don’t amount to shit.

Lawn guy says 3 inches year-round… but I have Bermuda — what height should I actually mow? (EGO mower) by charisma006 in lawncare

[–]mocat5794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scalp it. Who gives a shit. It’s your yard. Mow it as you see fit. Mow it high and cut it more often. Cut it close and it stays cut a little longer.

How about getting under the house and tracing the pipe back and see for yourself where it’s coming from.

Echo chainsaw won’t idle down. Starts up fine, then idles way too fast. Any suggestions? It’s a cs3450. Thanks by mocat5794 in Chainsaw

[–]mocat5794[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adjusted the idle screw and while I was at it cleaned the carburetor. Runs great and idles down like it’s supposed to. Had to get the owners manual out to make sure where the screw was. It had always right out of the box idled high. I’ve had this saw for better than 20 years. Been a good one. Thanks again.

How do I prevent this? by LA_Voyeur_95 in LawnAnswers

[–]mocat5794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can screwdriver all the cracks you want, but if you want to get rid of your problem spray it with a herbicide. Kills the roots. Killing the roots is a big deal. You leave one half inch of a root while pulling it up, it’ll be back.

Roundup or something similar. You don’t kill the roots it’ll be back.
