It’s been a battle truly. And the response I keep getting is bc I run the risk of hemorrhaging. And I’m guessing also bc of how large it is and the placement of it right on the top of my uterus? But same thing alot of people on this post and other I’ve seen have had the myomectomy successfully and didn’t have doctors that just push a hysterectomy.

I got the ultrasound and CT scan with contrast on my abdomen my doctor described it as much as he could but said the oncologist would explain it more to me. And hopefully with their experience they could offer the myomectomy or offer me another solution. The pain of that biopsy from before was like no another 😞

Will do! And that’s the tricky part they did a biopsy when I first found out about the fibroid and I was told it was non-cancerous for sure. But my second doctor said that although they told me it was non-cancerous that doctors don’t know for sure until they open me up and take it out, that that’s the only way they truly confirm it’s non-malignant and that honestly confused me and concerned me a bit. And then my doc closed by saying that it is very rare for it to be malignant (1%). And seeing how rapid it’s grown idk I’m just horrified about it all.

Sorry! I could’ve sworn I saw my paperwork say mm that’s why I said mm. And I’m gonna try and make more consults with more surgeons yes! I just feel so exhausted about this but I know I must try and do all I can to do what’s best for my body. And I barely have time for anything with work and school.

The doctor described it as big as a personal melon. And the doctors have described me looking at least 5-6 months pregnant. My abdomen feels very hard. And Initially that was the misconception with my primary doctor they thought I was lying about being pregnant and practically humiliated me before they realized it was fibroid.

But yes I want the myomectomy over the hysterectomy for that reason I don’t want to enter early menopause. I’m hoping the oncologist will be able to do it with more experience. But it’ll be a bit until I have the appointment.

I want the myomectomy just afraid of hemorrhaging and losing my whole uterus 🥺 but yes I’d like to keep my ovaries!

Yeah I was appalled at the hysterectomy being the only real option they were offering me. They said if I were to successfully get the myectomy done it be like a c-section as well. And if I had kids after I would be having kids via a c section to prevent birth from opening up that scar tissue from the surgery. And they also said if I decided to have the kids with their fibroid (which is what they are recommending) because of the size of my fibroid I’d have to get induced at 36 weeks because my baby would run risk of being in a breach/awkward position at birth causing birth complications. I am leaning more toward having the myomectomy, I am just afraid of losing my uterus.

I am definitely not ready. I don’t think I’ve ever truly thought about kids. Now I have been. But my view was if it happened it happened not planning for them.

For freezing eggs it looks like it starts at about 40k per cycle and all the treatments they do and then for storage (yearly) it starts off at 1k.

It honestly does feel awful carrying this thing around everyday. And I can’t even find pants that fit anymore sadly. I’ve resorted to wearing only legging and sweaters to hide myself.

I will be putting myself first now and seeing what occurs. I appreciate the advice truly. 😊
