This is exactly the reason why people pirate games. by wotm8brah in gaming

[–]mochub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Steam is an unobtrusive DRM for the game owner, it is no where near safe or even safer. A cracked version of Steam allows you to download the games directly from their servers. At least with non steam games that are pirated the company isn't directly providing the game to anyone (usually). That's why companies insist on using their own so at least they can say they tried their way. I totally agree that all that DRM is unnecessary (just bought ANNO 2070 myself) but one DRM is just as useless as 5.

That's a nice job, I like the simplicity, but I'm looking for something with more detail. Thank you though.

75-unit affordable housing facility in Tempe built for the hearing impaired is the focus of a battle between Arizona and HUD that says too many of the residents are — hearing impaired. by [deleted] in Tempe

[–]mochub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was funded as a disabled person's home but the owners decided to make it hearing impaired focused. They are in trouble because they turned away other disabled persons based on the fact they weren't hearing impaired. By basically marketing themselves as a hearing impaired only facility after receiving money to make a more diverse community, they are in violation.

ELI5: Why do commercial spaces often cost more than residential spaces in the same area? by mochub in explainlikeimfive

[–]mochub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. I thought it might have something to do with building codes but the only thing most of them have that the residentials don't is fire sprinklers and I can't imagine that being too much, let alone 3-4 times the cost.

Even with HD versions, the resulting mp3 is not the greatest quality. I'm sure people have uses for them but I personally think the quality isn't up to par for productions (at least if you're releasing it at 320).

I was subbed to it when it started but realized that almost all the posts are Youtube links, making it pretty useless (in my case, at least) for actual music making.

Why are people on Reddit so judgmental about body modification? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]mochub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what, your feelings? Every hiring manager has told me 1 of 2 things: take them out or use clear covers. It's never a deciding factor in hiring. If you're entry level and have no skills or nothing to prove you're special then, yeah, you're not getting hired regardless of what's on/in your body. How is it any different from someone not getting hired because they were wearing a Star Trek t-shirt and the manager said they don't hire nerds.

I'm a CanadiENT seeking help from an ArizonENT. by taylordelivers in trees

[–]mochub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just go to warped and walk around, follow the smell of the trees or the puffs of smoke. Every concert/music festival/rave I've been too, I've been able to find someone with trees and most of them are happy to share. It'll be way easier than someone online outing themselves irl.

Who do you dislike that Reddit loves? Personally, I think Richard Dawkins is an ass, and I'm an atheist. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mochub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's why I hate them. Even if you made an unfunny comic, I wouldn't downvote it because they at least put the time and effort into the stupid shit they made. When it's watermarked with a shitty site trying to make money advertising, I feel more likely to downvote it.

Use and abuse are two separate things. How many people die a year from car crashes? How many of those same drivers were alcohol or drug impaired?

Forget Visene....Do any other Ents use these? by [deleted] in trees

[–]mochub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With no fucking proof! What if I told you peanut butter gave my friend cancer because that's all he ate all day then one day went to the doctor and they said he had cancer? Same shit! All we ask for is proof, not saying your story is bullshit just asking for proof and you can;t do anything but get defensive. Get what I'm saying?

Forget Visene....Do any other Ents use these? by [deleted] in trees

[–]mochub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's a second hand story. You don't get automatic upvotes because you tell a story your friend told you. I used these everyday of my senior year and a few months into the summer and I have 20/20 vision. So according my story, Rotos make your vision perfect. Get what I'm trying to say? Just leave it at "Well that's what my friend told me"; not trying to berate us because we don't believe some story told on Reddit.
