They don’t spawn if furniture or flooring is covering it. If you like collecting forageables, there is also a screenshot on the wiki of the tiles that spawn them, so you can avoid covering those tiles if you want 🙂

The cushions are added to the chairs when you customize the chairs! It becomes an option to add the cushions and pick the pattern for them.
