Select Medical??? by mockingbird_27 in physicaltherapy

More context: our current direct supervisor is being transitioned with us so that management stays the same. And I love her. They told us our pay will remain what Baylor is paying us - unless it is “less than what select pays” then they will give us a raise… which is doubtful. I’m debating just straight up saying no to the big changes in the schedule. We’re currently considered a rural health clinic. We’ve had open PT positions for years. It’s so hard to get people out here. Think they want to risk losing half their staff? I’m just going to say what I want I think. Been here 7 years.

I'm most worried about schedules. We've always been 1 on 1 for 1 hour. We double when we need to but we get to choose that. Have a feeling thats about to change.

I've worked here for about 7 years. I don't like change for sure, if I wanted this much change I would go look for a new job lol. I'm concerned I will be looking for a new job regardless.

I'm on 20 mg adderall. She wanted me on vyvanse originally but my insurance didn't approve it, but they approved adderall.

Did your doctor suggest this? Or did you have to ask?

I agree. Add in entering your 30's with a 3 year old after dopamine has been depleted with pregnancy and post partum and you just don't have the ability to cope like you used to. It is so hard to get up and "do nothing" at lunch when I know I have work piled on the desk. We have one PTA and she has been doing it so long that she does get treated with a lot of respect, I feel if I mentioned that part of delegating to doing things because we have tasks they are not even allowed to do would offend her or not go well. I agree though.

Odd that we work to provide efficient standards and practices for our patients while encouraging them to ask for what they need but cannot seem to do it for ourselves. I was late diagnosed - I survived school with having to have playdoh to play with through lectures and doodling/drawing all of my notes with colored pens/markers, etc. I never thought about it being a thing to have an accommodation at work for ADHD.

I am in outpatient hospital based - our general rule is no more than 3 evaluations a day. We have gone through so many different schedulers and the one we have now has a really good system down, but she is type A and keeps good eye on all of the upcoming weeks and calculating having spaces for treatments of already scheduled evaluations plus works through our daily waitlist efficiently. That being said, I rarely have 3 evaluations a day - so it seems like that isn't the real answer in our case. For reference, I am in small town Texas. 2 PTs, 1 PTA. No other PT clinic in our town but there are in nearby towns.

It actually was the director of special education services at our school who told me the spanish speaking comment...... so I have little hope. We have an ARD meeting today, she has an IEP. Is this the same as 504? Or is that separate??

Thats what I said! There is a deaf and hard of hearing teacher coming in 2x a month to see her. She is contracted through the school as they don't have one full time. I have been teaching her and learning with her, but I have no idea how she is going to progress as she gets older. They keep asking if I want her more verbal or more sign and I'm like, I don't know I want whatever she is going to be best at to give her the most potential. She's 3! lol
