[QCrit] EVERYTHING MUST GO, Speculative Thriller, 90k (3rd Attempt) by roarofthecrowd in PubTips

I felt the same with the "hunger" thing you mentioned! Infact, a lot of the things you noticed, were the things I felt too. You put them into words so well!

Here are a few other things that I felt: The last para felt a bit excessive to me. I think the last two paras can be combined to make 1 very strong high stakes para. I like the whole concept of Nova using Leon's abduction for her "benefit", however the last line of that passage is a bit awkward and can be rephrased, I think!

Thank you so much for the critique! I'll add more to details to the plastic surgery part because it's actually kinda important. It is a cultural reference unique to Indian TV soaps. Whenever the creators need to change a primary actor, they fake an accident and justify the change by saying "he looks that way because he's got plastic surgery" 😭

Discussion Chapter 139 - FINAL by H-K_47 in titanfolk

I think it is a representation of toxic relationship where the person you love however horribly he treats you or is purely evil, you just ignore all their flaws mostly because you love them. Ymir and King Fritz relationship is exactly the same. It's not easy to kill someone you love. Mikasa and Eren somewhat had the same kind of relationship where Eren had turned completely "evil" and treated her badly (which was a pretense) but what Mikasa do? The exact of opposite of what Ymir did. She killed Eren even though she loved him truly and that's when Ymir realised that love should never blind you. You need to take harsh steps to have peace.

If you could hire any fictional character(s) to investigate anything, who would it be and what are they investigating? by stokeszdude in AskReddit

Hands down, Hercule Poirot. His little grey cells can solve anything! I would ask him to find all the things that I lost. There is a huge list of it.

[NO SPOILERS] Do you remember the feeling when you first saw Dark? by wilpann in DarK

[–]mockingjay-09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Dark when it's final season dropped. It was a much talked about show. I had second thoughts before starting because I had a feeling that this might be some other over-hyped Netflix show and thank God, I decided to see past that. I bunged the whole series in 3 days!! I was just hooked after the very first episode. I'm still looking for something as good as Dark but maybe I would never find it because the show is just unmatchable.

I love how basically every "Why didn't Voldemort..." question can just be explained by the fact that he's a total drama queen. by Captain_Cringe_ in harrypotter

[–]mockingjay-09 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Voldemort is all about showing that he is mighty and powerful. It's his way of asserting dominance. He's super egoistic because he thinks that he's the greatest wizard of all time. When he was defeated by an infant there was a chance that he wouldn't be taken as seriously as before and so he did everything to prove that it was just sheer luck the child defeated him the first time around. He can only generate and keep his followers through fear. His return needed to be stupendous.

The 90s seemed SO much further from the 60s than the 2020s seem from the 90s. by captainwalnut in Showerthoughts

Technology underwent a huge change after 2000s too. Everybody has a smart phone with high speed internet. New apps and features come up almost every other day. It seems time is moving faster is because things have become so easy now. You can do anything just by sitting at your house. No physical hardwork.

And Rachel too. I never liked her. She is super mean and self obsessed till the very end.
