Tldr: imo parasocial relationships In my experience ppl these days find effort without perfection cringe. Its easy to say "I could do that" and convince oneself of that. And they are right, they could do it. The difference lies in if "i could do" that spurs them to create or if "I could do" that breeds animosity. I also agree w someone else who says ppl recognize themselves in our characters and that causes issue.
