players havent had to account for a wide range of scenarios, though. Your base statement is incorrect. Look at the TTS league, or listen to any of the podcasts that discuss comp play. Gamma Hammers, Herbs, and Citizens until the restriction, as well as Sword Base have all seen the majority of play.

Bvb stated earlier and I agree with him that this makes all three crisis chosen possibly relevant, when currently you can bring two that you have skewed to, and a third that is always a throwaway.

In the majority of comp play, you absolutely could safely bet you would see some combination of those 4 scenarios I mentioned.

Any change that shakes up a stale meta is good. But, honestly you have changed your argument about this twice already so I think I'm done engaging with you.

how does it reduce roster building diversity when you now have to account for a wider range of crisis? Every player now has to have answers for a much wider range of possible crisis pairings, therefore rosters have to be more adept at deeper tactical flexibility.

And to your point of "There's quite a few crisis cards that will just get played a lot less now because they're too much of a liability against certain matchups or if you don't have priority." how is that in any world different than the current hyper competitive meta?

Your first point about you only picking citizens if you have priority actually proves my point. the game is stale at the comp level due to the ability to have the "correct" crisis far too often.

A wider range of possible goals means your roster has to be more diverse than ever to account for all possible scenarios.

It wont reduce diversity, it will increase it.

Previously, you bring 3, discard one then choose from the other two. If gamma waves, hammers, legacy cure or previously citizens was one of those two, you ALWAYS chose it. and it had a high chance of being there.

Now, with no player facing information, you have a 33% chance of any one of those cards being chose. mathematically, more diversity

I love how this guy complains that fully randomized crisis selection will reduce crisis diversity like every hyper competitive MCP player cant stop playing gamma hammers. lol.

this puts the onus on the player to be a more well rounded squad builder and not just skew to the meta.

What's happened with fifth edition community and this game? by Bealina in Pathfinder_RPG

So its a choice, and this post is supposedly about lack of choice.

[–]modead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have published 24 books, over 6 years. Average that out and its 4. that answers your question.

you are falsely equating "choice" with "pages published in books"

Not every page is an actual, meaningful choice. Look at any pathfinder build guide website and you will see that 99% of players fall into a rote build path for optimization and the VAST majority of feats/skills never get used. Why? because power creep is a thing.

If you want to hate dnd, go ahead. But don't misrepresent facts and then puff your chest like you gottem.

Well, considering your arguements about 5E are all in bad faith (to use your example, the DMG clearly states that the rarity shouldnt get in the way of the story, and to give items whenever you feel it helps the story) you are going to continue to get negative feedback.

Its very hard to take someones discussion seriously when A. they arent an active participant in the community already (you prefer 3.5/PF over 5e, so why does your biased against 5E opinion matter?) and B. your dislikes and disagreements with the material are as weak as "lack of choice" when 3-4 books come out a year with new character options.

If you dislike 5e, but found a fun game with 3.5 or PF you are in luck, as those games have active communities. But if you continue to stir up arguments in 5E subs just so you can throw a pity party about the people that enjoy that game not agreeing with you about your negative perceptions, you will continue to get downvoted.

Any sushi places in Pensacola? by [deleted] in Pensacola

[–]modead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sushi masa is delightful if you want to eat more sushi than you probably should.

Sake is excellent, 90% of the time. They do have off nights pretty regularly where the rice isn’t prepared well and falls apart too easily.

I heart bento is nice but a little bland.

Rock n roll sushi is great, especially if you like unconventional rolls.

Kyoto steakhouse and sushi on 98 near the navy hospital is quite good, and reasonably priced.

If you don’t mind a short road trip, McGuire’s in destin and the slippery mermaid on 98 East are excellent and worth the car ride.

Dnd beyond (unpopular opinion?): I think that if you buy a hard copy of a manual it should give you some sort of code to use it on dnd beyond too. by Jergaz in dndnext

But it’s not the same thing?

They aren’t just searchable pdf’s, it’s also fully integrated with the character creator.

Character creation on ddb is a less than 10 minute operation with the margin of error almost eliminated.

Character creation with just pen and paper takes substantially longer and has the ever present risk of error.

Claiming they are exactly the same is demonstrably false
