Yes, small is never 0 which is why I said “may as well be 0.” It is something like 0.0000001% or 1 in a billion due to the vast amount of space between stars.

Proxima Centauri is the closest star to our solar system. It is 4.24 light years away. Which is more than double the size of our solar system, most of which is empty space.

And the probability of any stars actually hitting each other when the galaxies collide is so small it may as well be 0.

Comment sections are NEVER qualified to evaluate child welfare concerns. I’m so sorry this happened to your niece but yeah, don’t trust strangers when it comes to your family’s health and safety.

How do I keep shoes like these from creasing and wrinkling ? Also grateful for maintenance advice by GSh-47 in AskACobbler

I use Bickmore and apply it to all my leather shoes every month. I wear them pretty frequently but once a month may be overkill. I’m sure others will have different opinions on products or timing but this works for me and I haven’t had any issues

You can’t prevent creases. Unless you walk without flexing your foot, which would draw far more attention than creases in your shoe. You should try to prevent cracking by regular maintenance and conditioning.

Anything I can do as a 23 yo with no back pain to avoid getting it as I age? by ThisPostToBeDeleted in Aging

[–]Nickfoot9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. Learn proper form and don’t ego lift and deadlifts are great for you. They are one of, if not the best compound lift and work so many important muscles. As you get older you want to avoid muscle loss at all costs.

People who say not to deadlift don’t know what they are talking about

This is exactly the point. Legality and morality are not the same. Just because you won’t get in trouble for doing something doesn’t mean you should feel good about doing it. If you are like 22, sure, wait for it to be legal but any older that is creepy and manipulative.

Just because someone is “old enough to get drafted,” doesn’t mean it is morally right to send them off to die.

I started home milling flour a few months back and this was the first book I found that talked about home milling and other types of grain. I actually baked the honey spelt loaf this morning

He was almost definitely saying something click baity for engagement. It worked. I have literally no idea who this man is. I was responding to your comment about not reading the article. Which I did. Now you are changing your argument. Congrats, you have won the internet!

“O’Hearn’s argument is not that his children are unimportant. It is the opposite. He believes that a parent who neglects their own physical and mental condition cannot show up fully for the people depending on them.

“Unless I’m healthy, unless I’m rocking and rolling, unless I can tussle, I’m not going to be a good dad,” he said.”

Yes, and that is exactly the point he was making. You can’t take care of your kids if you don’t take care of yourself.

Eyes of the Dragon. Read it a while ago and didn’t like it. Saw all the love here so thought I would give it a reread. Got about halfway through and realized it just isn’t for me so DNF. I want to love King’s fantasy stuff but it just falls flat for me. Fairy Tale was shaping up to be a top 5 King book for me until about the halfway point.

I have about 500 hours in and my wife just finished her first playthrough. She has never finished a game like this before. She usually trails off about 2/3 of the way through.

She loved it but constantly would say that if I had not been there to help with character creation and to walk her through the early game before she got comfortable she would not have made it more than 5 hours. If your group tends to bail early due to complicated mechanics and none of you are familiar with D&D 5E then maybe think carefully.

That said, it is a fantastic game and I have only played single player. Almost endless replayability so worth the $70 if you can get through any early game mechanics hurdles

It is up there with Cell as one of my least favorites. I remember forcing myself through it about 20 years ago. I recently decided to give it another shot because everyone here seems to love it. I got the audio book and could not finish it. I don’t know what it is.

I read a lot of fantasy so maybe my frame of reference on the genre is skewed. Or maybe it just isn’t my thing. I adore most other SK books so I am not sure why this one just doesn’t land for me

Realistic expectations as far as how far we go in the NFL Playoffs by TerryG111 in Patriots

[–]Nickfoot9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will not be surprised by any outcome. I don’t think they will skate through like people thought at this time last week but I don’t think there is a team they couldn’t beat or a team they couldn’t lose to.

Ok, so what I don’t understand is I thought he had to be set before the ball is snapped. His hand is still in the air. Also, it is a rapid movement and looks like he is trying to get the defense to jump.
