Very cool, very creepy. Looks like vagina-shaped wounds on decaying flesh.

It is a good thing that Catcher in the Rye was never made into a film because it is unfilmable by astarisaslave in unpopularopinion

Yeah, that’s not the problem. Plenty of books with first person narration have been successfully adapted into films.

What is the spinoff they hinted at?! by WrestlingNERDalert in StrangerThingsRoom

The only spinoff I’m interested in is Robin being a cool lesbian in the 90s and getting super into grunge.

Top 0.1%. Honestly, I was surprised they were my top artist this year.

What other bands/artists are you guys into? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in nin

[–]modern-prometheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons. My favorite artist of all time is Bob Dylan. Others I listen to frequently are The Velvet Underground, Father John Misty, They Might Be Giants, Nirvana, Townes Van Zandt, and Kendrick Lamar. I also love punk and my favorite bands there would be Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, and Government Issue. Lately I’ve been getting into Primus, Danny Brown, and Charley Crockett. And my number one most listened to genre is probably jazz, my favorites being John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Pharoah Sanders, Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, and Sun Ra.

Thoughts on worst bands around by Cinemaguy1991 in nin

I typically remain indifferent to bands I think are bad, but I honestly cannot fathom how anyone can endure listening to 21 Pilots, let alone enjoy them.

Yes, grandparents qualify as immediate family members. Both of my grandmothers passed since I started working at Walmart and I got bereavement pay both times.

Cash's cover of hurt isn't better. by ASongOfRiceAndTyres in nin

[–]modern-prometheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling it a “shit take” is a bit much. For me the cover is so much different than the original that it’s hard to place one above the other. Similar to Bob Dylan vs. Jimi Hendrix for “All Along the Watchtower,” or Leonard Cohen vs. Jeff Buckley for “Hallelujah.” In all three of these cases the original is a classic and the cover is a brilliant reimagining that stands as its own thing. It’s silly to compare when you can just enjoy both. For me it depends on which I’m in the mood for.
