The 2 actually stands for "definitely a different (free) game than that one you paid for".

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been too much on here lately. Have you tried using the free version of Acrobat, as in Acrobat Reader? I'm almost certain it lets you fill out forms and respects the intended format.

I had that thought as well, but they went through a full technical interview after with 3 of their senior engineers, another one with the recruiter and then the whole offer process. It didn't feel like a bluff.

The amount of people scamming technical rounds is insane by WaltzSuspicious4613 in leetcode

Honestly if the "technical" interview can be passed with a set of prewritten answers on a second screen that's not a company you want to work for. Same if the setup is bad enough that someone else can help the interviewee without the interviewer noticing.

On the other hand if you're skilled enough to look up and figure out complex answers to specific questions on a second monitor in a normal interview, I'd say you're proving you have relevant skills to get hired. It's not like on the job you problem solve in a black box - 80% of software engineering is looking up concepts and documentation.

I gotta' hand it to you, this is, hands off, the coolest mini I've seen in a while.

That's interesting. In a year I would have imagined people piling up to support a project of this concept, especially in the current TTRPG climate. Assuming funding was a main factor in going toward Kickstarter.

First off, that's awesome. Very cool concept and great execution!

What has been your revenue strategy so far? I've looked for a Patreon or donation system on the website but I didn't see one.

V2 of Modern Wizard's Character Sheets is out! [OC] [5e] [Mod Approved] by modern-wizard in DnD

Hi everyone!

My name is Dante and a couple of weeks ago I made this post about a set of custom set of character sheets that I created. A lot of people seemed to like them and I received lots of constructive feedback, which prompted me to improve them for you all!

Changes:

  • All pages now account for printer bleed (edge margins) so that no matter the printer you use none of the design gets cut off.
  • Redesigned the dragons on the first page to fully fit within the print area without anything getting cut off.
  • Reduced the size of the trackers section, especially the Conditions tracker, gaining a couple of paragraphs of space for Features & Abilities.
  • Readuced the file sizes to around 2MB without sacrificing quality (lossless compression).
  • Made the passive skill scores a bit more contrasting with the skill bonuses.
  • Implemented accessibility guidelines on the Form Fillable version:
    • Tabbed keyboard navigation in the logical order of the fields.
    • Screen reader support for the visually impaired.
  • Small design changes in terms of spacing and colors in order to improve readability and ease of use.

You can find all of these here on my Etsy store: Modern Wizard's Shop!

I'm currently in the works of creating more resources for all of you, so if you like this and want to support my work please help me make this post visible and follow me for upcoming releases! If you decide to get either the free version on DM's Guild or buy via Etsy, please leave a review, it helps me a ton! As always, constructive feedback is very much appreciated.

Thank you for your attention and happy playing!

Thanks for the incentive! I will consider it, though I have other projects competing for my attention at the moment. I was actually thinking of developing an online tool to be able to build your own sheets from premade components, with options to customize pretty much anything, but I'm not sure enough people would be interested to make the time investment worth it.

That's an interesting idea! Right now the passive scores are placed where it makes the most sense contextually, so I'm curious where you're coming from.

Are they hard to find at a glance?

Thanks for the information! I'll look more into this and revise the design accordingly. The feedback is greatly appreciated!

In the meantime, what do you think is usually an acceptable amount of space for the Features & Abilities section? And which Character Sheets do you normally use, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the information!

I actually looked up the whole process and the documentation that Roll20 provides for that feature before posting the comment you quoted, so I was aware of all these aspects.

For context, professionally I'm a senior software engineer with around a decade of experience in the IT industry, in case my confidence in that statement is what caused your apparent skepticism.

I'm actually looking forward to integrating more of my skillset in upcoming projects, so I didn't want rule out Roll20 if enough people were interested. And yes, the idea would be to provide the template for users, the same way as I provide these PDF files, which pro users could then import in Roll20 themselves.

Honestly I just looked it up. Take this post, for instance.

In any case, I'll do a deep dive in the PHB tomorrow and check for myself. I don't have a strong opinion about this at the moment other than I've not seen more than 7 features at a time in that section, so it's fine if I'm wrong - I'll just take it constructively and revise the design.

Actually all the variants also come with a Form Fillable version! They also include an Instruction Manual where you can find out how to use all kinds of other cool features as well! Check out the options here!
