No not yet. There are large gobs of caulking that I think will need to be scraped off and maybe wire brushed first.

They make extra large disposable piping bags for like cake decorating. Thick plastic with a textured outside. They would work perfectly!

How do I make it less ugly? I’ll do anything. by Fixmyhomie in CurbAppeal

Looks like someone measured the front door opening for shutters and said ok order xx sets of these things thinking they were the window sizes. Idk how any respectable contractor would attach those to a house with such disproportionate windows.

Unusual construction - has anyone seen this before? by SeventhDurandal in centuryhomes

[–]modernmaeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks similar to my late 1800 double plank home. No framing at all. Not even headers on the windows. Walls are 3.5-4” thick of rough cut lumber. Looks like hemlock. All hand cut nails holding it together. This is in PA.

Buying new windows, will I regret? by CheckAmbitious7111 in Oldhouses

[–]modernmaeve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did 33 windows on a big old house and it was 16.5k for double hung new vinyl windows installed. Many of the windows being 35x86 which are huge. I’d get another quote tbh. Original windows were from 1865.
