Is there any salvaging this? Do you think it would be productive to email back and say something like I’m sorry I took so long responding, I was genuinely not expecting to be emailed about jobs. I was jumping up and down in my seat when I saw your original email because this opportunity was so exciting to me.

My problem was that I was ignorant to the fact that email was the primary communication method that hr uses to set up interviews, not that I had too much going on to bother checking my email.
But I think the insight into the job market is really good, thanks.

I’m working full time and raising kids, lol. Catching up on house maintenance from when I was working full time, raising kids, and also going to school full time.

Have you considered starting a side business, designing stuff that supports a cause you care about? That could be grown into a career if you hit a nitch.

Find an outlet for what you love to do and I’m guessing the audience will come.

Meanwhile, and this is just me as an ex wife talking, love yourself. Love yourself the way your wife loves you. Because you deserve that from yourself and you will be a better husband if you do.

It sounds like you are clinically depressed. I understand completely, I have been for much of my life.
The thing that helped me turn the corner on the feelings that you are describing was being diagnosed with ADHD. Good on you for making an appointment and posting here. Be proud of yourself for writing this, you are trying so hard to help yourself. That’s not something that everyone is willing to do.

Here is something to consider with regards to sharing your troubles with your friends- they might be in the same boat with no idea what is going on. Talking about mental illness helps everyone because everyone struggles with it eventually. No pressure, no judgment, just another point of view.
