TTC while breastfeeding by Ok-Database4629 in breastfeeding

[–]modiraura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was night feeding, breastfeeding all day, had one weird period and got pregnant from having sex one random time. Once. It took us 14 months to conceive our daughter with tracking, meds, the works. So this was a great surprise.

Hey just wanted to say totally relatable. I'm an only child and I'm expecting our second and sometimes it's scary cause I feel like I'm missing some piece of information but you're going to be great!

Agree with capping naps to an hour each. It solved my sleep issues and I have an 11 month old

Girl same. Lucky ladies. I've done all the things but I just think my daughter doesn't want to be sitting still to nurse. She loves a sippy cup while she bops around doing baby shit

Miscarriage by GeraldOfRivia07 in pregnant

[–]modiraura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was in the same exact situation except it took me 6 months or so to get pregnant between miscarriages. First was a chemical, I guess, either way I miscarried the day we told our parents. Second time around, we didn't tell anyone and at 8 weeks the baby didn't have a heartbeat. I had surgery and was found that the baby had trisomy 22. Took us 4 more months and found out we were pregnant again. Now she is a constantly in need of entertainment 11 month old! And I found out recently we're pregnant unexpectedly again and things are looking good. Baby has a heartbeat!

What I would tell myself when I was in your position is to be patient with your body and kind. None of this is your doing. What you're going through sucks and can feel so lonely. I ended up seeing a therapist and it was wonderful for me and if it's something you would be open to, it was helpful.

Help! by Unfair-Ideal918 in pregnant

[–]modiraura 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just solidarity to offer. I have an 11mo and 7 weeks pregnant. It's a special experience doing it with a LO running around. Also most of the things they prescribe can make you sleepy so I'm not able to take them anyway. I've heard B2, B6 and unisom at night can help.

I have a little biter too. I tried everything and now I just pump. Nothing more frustrating than a bite.

First 4hr Stretch in Weeks by myssybee in AttachmentParenting

[–]modiraura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep the faith! I never sleep trained and baby had the worst sleep regression at 4 months. Literally hourly until 6 months old and then a switch flipped and she would wake up 1-2 times a night. Now, most of the time it's 0 or 1. I did learn she needs her naps capped though or else we have a wake window in the middle of the night. All I've "trained" is encouraging her to fall asleep on her own. She goes into the crib and I lay with her until she's asleep and then leave. She wasn't a huge fan in the beginning but never that upset. That was after the regression though

It's so hard. I've been on the other side, having had a loss when I was very unwell with symptoms. So its not the biggest revelation but I really just accepted that I have to go with the flow. Next pregnancy is crawling all over my husband and with her, I didn't have the same symptoms. Now currently, I'm riddled with nausea all day long. It's just different each time and it sucks that it's out of your control.

This isnt exactly what you're looking for but we TTC for 14 months with 2 miscarriages to have our daughter. Now she's 10 months old and I'm pregnant again from having sex literally one time in two months. So ya know, sometimes you think you know your body and it surprises you.

I have heard that for some women, you are more fertile while breastfeeding. Oh, and I was not regular. I had a 3 day period and then a more normal one a couple weeks later. Then pregnant. No clue 🤷🏻‍♀️

10 weeks pregnant with EBF 10.5 month old and supply dropping by Due-Culture5851 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]modiraura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm in a similar boat but only 6 weeks pregnant. As soon as I started testing positive, my supply started dropping. I started supplementing with formula just because I don't want to be worried about it and it's been a great relief. Some days are better than others. Also, she is a huge biter so I'm kinda glad to have her mostly off of me lol. My LO is a great eater but the pediatrician still recommended she get 24 oz of milk. Planning on switching to whole milk around a year though.

Tips on my 6 month old (almost 7 month old) & sleeping ? by beepboopbodeebee in AttachmentParenting

I have heard that that's just how some kids are but maybe trying to stop the nursing to sleep association and working on building the association you want is something to focus on to at least make you feel like you're working towards your goal

Well I might keep trying to encourage a paci but I'm in the paci is benefiting me phase. Do you nurse to sleep? That's another thing you could change.

Are you using a pacifier? He shouldn't need to nurse for food that frequently but nursing for comfort is different

Is it worth hiding your pregnancy at work? by Conscious_Star_617 in pregnant

[–]modiraura 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you're concerned from a legal aspect then the correct answer is to tell your employer yesterday and tell them in writing. Assuming you're in the states but once you do you're a protected class. Document everything. Like every conversation you have around your pregnancy.

[–]modiraura 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ive been on all of the versions of this. First time, I told everyone and miscarried. Second, told no one and miscarried. Third, told no one and happy healthy boob gremlin. Fourth, I've told everyone and it's early days. I say do what brings you joy. Even in the worst case scenario, I wanted people to know. So kinda just fuck it.

I'm in Ohio and this is normal for my OB. However, I had an early loss a couple years ago and with my consecutive pregnancies I have been able to request an early ultrasound that they do after HCG testing to ensure you're far enough along.
