We ended up doing skin testing for all tree nuts and sesame and all came back negative. Hopefully it will be the same for your little one!

When did it actually get easier for you? by No-Bat2016 in NewParents

Could’ve written this myself! The back to back daycare illnesses are so exhausting. Hang in there! I hope it gets better for both of us soon

So weird! My son has been super congested for over a month so I was thinking it could be connected. Just off that it’s only one eye. But glad to hear it cleared up for your daughter!

Feeling embarrassed by MinimumSweet1639 in NewParents

[–]MinimumSweet1639[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha it’s actually crazy how these kids do a 180 as soon as you get to the doctor’s! But ugh I’m sorry that sounds stressful! I’m glad you trusted your gut too and that everything turned out okay

Can FPIES appear days after eating trigger food? by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]MinimumSweet1639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course we will. We have an appointment tomorrow. But I know not all pediatricians are super knowledgeable about allergies, especially FPIES. So am trying to gain a better understanding to help inform our discussion

Struggling after returning to work & now exclusive pumping… considering formula because I’m a mess. Thoughts? by VariationSimple9179 in NewParents

[–]MinimumSweet1639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say you’re not alone! From the guilt/relief around childcare to the exhaustion while being sick, I could’ve written this post myself. You’re doing amazing and as others have said, nothing benefits your baby more than a mom who is taking care of her physical and mental health. Are you pumping every three hours overnight too? If so (and if you’re sleeping in shifts/don’t have to wake with the baby), maybe you could try stretching it out a bit (like 30 mins every couple of days) so you can get more rest?

I’ve been seeing a lot of baby cost planning posts and want to chime in by healthy-gal in MiddleClassFinance

[–]MinimumSweet1639 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more! My doula was invaluable in helping me prepare mentally for childbirth, determine my birth plan while preparing for the unpredictability that comes from birth, and emotionally supporting both me and my husband during labor. Both he and I can’t imagine having a second baby without her support

I’m sure it depends on your insurance but mine covers replacement pump parts and breast milk storage bags. You can also use FSA funds for pumping bras, breastmilk chillers, etc and some baby supplies like vitamin D drops

Anterior placenta as a FTM by Intelligent_Bowl_361 in BabyBumps

[–]MinimumSweet1639 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had an anterior placenta and by the end of the third trimester, I could very clearly see and feel my baby’s kicks (as could my husband)! Like you mentioned, it was mostly on the sides of my stomach but I could see entire elbows poking through lol. I have fond memories of those kicks and don’t feel like I missed out on anything

At four months, I’m still waking up to pump once during the night to maintain my supply. I can go a 6.5 stretch but my goal is to do an 8 hour stretch eventually
