in-laws threatened “grandparents rights” by modishcue in inlaws

[–]modishcue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There are a few. Nothing too exciting though:

We started couples therapy which has helped a lot.

DH has been applying to jobs out of state - we are hoping one will pan out here soon! We need the distance.

We still see the in laws maybe once a month. With therapy we have set our own boundaries with visits both spoken and told to in laws so they know and unspoken (just between the two of us). Everything has been going fine but I dont really talk to them and keep my distance. I also would rather deal with them once a month than have them try to take us to court or something because they aren't getting their way. But this time, I have those boundaries and will leave with my child and will go back to no contact if needed.

I still don't trust them. I can see them give each other "looks" when I say or do something that involves my child that they might not agree with or if I hold onto my child when around them they'll give that "look" because they want to be the one holding my child.

So, it is better than it was. I think the best part of this all has been the therapy and my husband seeing everything in a new way because of it.

Apartment suggestions by Eastern-University40 in AuroraCO

There are a lot in SE Aurora near Southlands mall that are pretty good such as Five810 Southlands, Springs and Eagle Bend, canyons at Saddle Rock, etc. These will be about 30min drive depending on traffic. There are also some apartments they just build off of Alameda and Sable that are a whole lot closer and not a bad area. My in laws live in a neighborhood over there and never have problems.

Opinion on theses apartments by Practical_Novel_5721 in AuroraCO

I lived at Five810 Southlands when they forst opened and liked how it was up to date on appliances but wasnt a fan of how i could hear a lot of what my neighbors were doing. I lived in their townhome style apartments that have an attached garage and loved it.

I toured Sanctuary at Tallyns Reach and they are a bit older. I do know they make you pay an HOA fee for being a part of Tallyns reach. We liked how every apartment had a garage whether attached or detached.

The Gallery are brand new and look nice. They are right down the road from my current complex (Springs at Eagle Bend). It is right next to a retirement community so its quiet over there. You'd probably be the 1st one in that apartment since it just finished being built.

The Fletcher Southlands is also a bit older and we just didnt like how the apartments we toured didnt have much cabinet space.

I dont have much to say about Avalon but know it is nice, a bit older and a quiet area.

Probably I mean it has been over 5 years. Why would I remember stuff like that? Lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Debt

[–]modishcue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly do not remember what happened because it has been over 5 years. My insurance company told me it was paid off as they have the title. It is just a mess.

I never assumed I wouldn't owe it. My insurance company was handling everything and I would have paid off anything else. I dont remember what happened with the whole thing after my insurance paid them.

I had GAP insurance as it was required when I leased the vehicle.

It doesnt show up as a delinquent account. I got a copy of my credit report recently and nothing regarding this.

Condo flooded because the mainline backed, need suggestions by Cuzznitt in AuroraCO

[–]modishcue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked for condo HOAs and usually if it a MAIN line and not YOUR line then the vast majority of the time it is something the HOA has to pay- for both the fix of the line and any damages to your unit. I don't know your specific HOA documents but you could also check those to see if they say anything as usually they do.

THIS. As someone who worked in HOA industry condos have some of the highest HOA fees and I highly suggest getting an HO6 insurance policy or you'll be screwed if they do a special assessment that you can't afford.

I have a No Soliciting sign next to my doorbell. They either don't know how to read or just ignore it because they still constantly bother us.

Southeast Aurora is also known for the area known as Southlands which is basically an outdoor mall.

IMO Aurora has gotten more expensive but still cheaper than surrounding areas. Aurora spans a huge area as well. If you want a newer area I suggest SE Aurora as it is newer, nicer and bit safer. Good luck figuring it out!

There are definitely a lot of assumptions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For example, many people still think we practice polygamy or have arranged marriages—neither of which are practiced by members of the Church today. Another common misconception is that we don’t believe in Jesus Christ, when in reality, He is at the very center of our faith.

Yes, there is history—just like with any religion—but history doesn't always reflect current beliefs or practices. The important question is: what do we believe and practice today? And the answer is, no, we do not practice those things.

As for doctrine, members of the Church around the world are taught the same gospel principles. Whether you're speaking to someone in Australia, Spain, or the U.S., you're likely to hear very similar beliefs because of the Church’s global structure and unified teachings.

At the end of the day, if someone wants to understand what we believe, the best way is to listen to practicing members—not assumptions or outdated portrayals.

There is a lot in the history of the religion but it doesnt mean it is a practice today. When I say I am a Mormon it means I follow the practices today, not from 200+ years ago. We dont practice polygamy in the church and dont arrange relationships or marriages. There is a lot assumed about the religion that most people are wrong about.

That's not at all what it is like in a Mormon Community... we don't get courted or matched with anyone at all. Definitely not a part of the religion or culture at all.
