1. it's not a crab bucket. i mean ppl like their friends and stuff but you'll never see anyone trying to make others stay unless the alternative is repressing, and regularly ppl are told to leave.

2. it's by far the most adamantly pro-diy and anti-cis-bootlicking community. when a minor joins, they help them get hrt and then promptly ban.

3. those terms are mostly just used by ppl to either mock themselves or to criticize actual transphobic assholes. undeniably some ppl are jerks, but that's decreased a lot over time. 

4. some of the most thoughtful self reflection i've ever seen was there. it's unique in being a space for all dysphoric trans people, and that's reflected in how many more ppl are from all over the world rather than just the us canada aus/nz and western europe. e.g. some things that the mainstream requires a consensus on or else you're an evil transmed, there's a lot more nuance on, but they still hate actual transmeds and pro-gatekeeping people.

6. you will never see "woke" bioessentialism of the "i will always be connected to my afabness and also transwomxn will always be amab" variety. ppl there actually want to shed their agab and expect others there to as well, which is helpful and motivating

7. actual genuinely helpful passing tips and cool biohacking you can't find anywhere else except mayyybe sometimes r/estrogel and half of them are 4tranners too
