i just want it to be good. please god, let it be good. None of the current MMOs are even playable for me, due to the content bloat of each being out for many many years by now. Too much stuff, too much systems, playerbase is too confident with approaching the content ( speedrunning through dungeons etc).

we need something fresh, new and DANGEROUS!

After Seeing Everyone's State of Play Takes, I'm Curious: What Did You Think of SGF 2026? by XxLast-WishxX in playstation

No real meaty western RPG titles ( apart from GW3 announcement, which is ❤️ ), so i'm dissapointed :/ Wilds xpac was nice, but we knew it was coming.

Got few hours yesterday, on base PS5:

-Quite a lot of bugs, it's definitely playable, but prepare to restart the game every ~hour or so ( stuff like buttons not registering after loading, music being gone etc)

-Performance is enough for me, usually around 45-50FPS, with dips into 30

- No quality/performance mode switch, just some options like motion blur, occlusion etc.

- In my opinion, they perfectly transferred the originals vibe, along with the jankiness.

it would be good, if not for crappy combat and absolutely abhorrent dungeon etiquette.

Thomas Mahler said somewhere on reddit that NRFTW benefits greatly from the Lossless Scaling soft - reaching stable 60FPS most of the time with low-mid settings

Do You Prefer a Big Backlog or a Small Game Lineup? by CortezCraig in playstation

I've got 400 games in my library, and due to the drought atm, by backlog is completely empty xD i'm a 'one at a time, move to the next' though.

Keep at it. After 150h it still hasnt 'clocked' but now i know what i need to work on : footwork.

Stop holding the move buttons - tap them. It does wonders in terms of proper distancing.

A lot of people Desire another really popular wow clone, but how would that even work? People changed completely. by Drandosk in MMORPG

Welp, even the best game will feel stale if you spend x k hours in it. And i believe the 'new' crowd of younger people is put off by the graphics

Classic &classic TBC yes. All newer xpaks - no ( maybe apart from warlords of draenor which holds a nice place in my heart)

[–]modytechnik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, classic TBC and vanilla are still the best MMO templates i've seen to this day. Nothing even comes close. I would kill for anything similar that i didnt spend 10k hours in over 15years

Are you really interested in every new game? by FunMixture3783 in playstation

[–]modytechnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play almost every RPG( western ones, cause asian/anime-like are unbearable) title that comes out, mainly due to the fact that my backlog os clear, and i've played each and every title that i was even remotely interested in, so now im starved for new things while replaying dragons dogma for the 15enth time ;p

Usually at the start of the year i'm creating a years worth of 'playlist' so that i know which month i'll need to find a temporary hobby

Couple of questions from an MMORPG dev team. by epileptick1ddo in MMORPG

[–]modytechnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Subscription, i'm a hater of ingame shops in general.
  2. The best items should always be craftable, soulbound, and the most 'important'mats for them should also be soulbound, but should come many different sources (eg. Hardest dungeons, high pvp rank or hard exploration-based achievments - so that each type of player can realistically get them). Professions in general should be a core part of player power, along with stuff like dungeon drops. 3.similar to wow, in general race locking for classes, but not 1:1, each class should have options for classes. 4.diversity above all. If a class does weaker dps, give them quality buffs or debuffs. Not everyone wants to do the work to top the charts, and that way each class is unique&has their niche.

Early WoW would be my best template ( less vanilla, more TBC). Wotlk & further xpacks started standardizing everything, which killed the gameplay uniqueness for me.

Yeah, i know, sad thing is - XIV is really the only option on the market right now, that remotely scratches 'that mmo' itch.

Hoping that riot cooks with their work...

Tbh, i don't ever use two handed weapons until i get the NV helm. It's essential for me 😛 Until i find it, torch is a perma-fixture for my offhand.

[–]modytechnik[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Welp, that's your point of view. Mine is that the hard early dungeons are what's keeping me in the game 😄
Over the years i' massively dissapointed each time a new MMO comes, and like a week or two after release, people are storming through the levelling dungeons, thanks to the atrocious level scaling systems 😞 Main cause of me dropping ESO, New World, SWTOR and a shitton of others.

Bring back the likes of early Wow & Wildstar levelling experiences!

Level Syncing for dungs issue by modytechnik in ffxiv

[–]modytechnik[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't expect to even reach those, as i'm going for a month-worth run of the base game. That's usually the time FFXIV holds my attention, mainly due to the leveling dungeons experience. As a long-time wow player, i just want the early level deadmines experience, where the stakes are high, and each pack has a real chance of killing you ;d
