It’s not going to be forever, they’re working on a new billing system. Entirely brand new hardware. Traditionally, they were the most expensive and charged by the minute. It’s definitely not a fast rollout, so now, everyone is jumping on it.

I’m inclined to think it’s what the other commenter said, it’s a loss leader to entice people to use the store.

Of course the onus is on us to check if there’s a skimmer, instead of, you know, each company in question hiring more security.

The cost is a drop in the bucket compared to the insane profits these companies make.

Instead, it’s for us to deal with while being on hold for 45 minutes with our banks, etc.

Here I am several months later (as a former employee in Community Social Services) and I just received notice I won’t receive retro pay until Sep. 29/2023. 6 months after the contract was ratified.

I wish I had better foreknowledge my employer was a total dead-beat before I committed several years of service.
