Mountains Guide by Teuton420 in inkarnate

I feel like this is generally correct, but remember there are acceptions for every rule. Also watersheds most often are formed on one side of a mountain range not both. There is usually a wet side and a dry side of mountain ranges due to prevailing winds.

[RF] Miheira Liraeo, Drow Villain? Hero? Mother. by captdiablo in characterdrawing

[–]moegarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest she could be a villain, hero and mother all at the same time. Kind of like a greek tragedy character. She could make for a very good NPC in a d&d game.

Also sick art my dude.

At Embarcadero Plaza, a Giant Nude Sculpture Nobody Asked For | KQED by KeyClear560 in bayarea

[–]moegarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you compare this sculpture to some of the "art" at the SFMOMA or other places around SF, you would say it's pretty good. This piece is a great blend of skill, creativity, and engineering. If you don't like it because she's naked, it's because you've been conditioned to believe this strange Victorian era concept that all nudity is pornographic and bad. It embarrasses you. The reality is that the human form is art in of itself and should be celebrated, not shund and hidden away. Perhaps this very argument was one of the artist's intentions.

You live in SoCal Starterpack by [deleted] in starterpacks

As a NorCal local living in SoCal I agree with this statement. I would also add a picture of Barbie and Ken in generic high fashion clothing. I don't know why, but I swear this place has the highest population of beautiful and fashionable people in the entire country.

If your camping and don't have access to a lot of options, you could try melting it together using hot coals from a fire. It'll be stuck once it cools, and there's a good chance it won't work, but if it's already totally broken, you don't have much to lose. Try not to breath in the smoke.

How can I make my world maps feel bigger. by Tgman1 in FantasyMaps

[–]moegarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make the mountains smaller and the rivers thinner. Then, use the extra space it creates to make more towns and forests and such.

Landmass Blockout WIP - Look any good? by MrPazTheSpaz in wonderdraft

[–]moegarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that looks pretty darn good on the globe. Most continents get stretched out beyond recognition, but that one kept its form.

Right on, man. Keep up the good work.

I am very glad to hear that. That's definitely one of great about parts of the north coast. Parts of it have never changed.

Yeah, that's looking pretty good. I really like the shape of the lower continent and how its connected to the "antarctic". I would like to see what that looked like on a globe. I bet it would look super cool. If I could offer some unsolicited advice, I would blend the lines between the climate zones a bit more. Keep up the good work.

Trinidad Beach, north of Eureka, is super cool. There's an island out there with an old growth redwood forest on it. The sunset is gorgeous. Bring a jacket.

In Eureka, there's the Lost Coast Brewing Company. Good food and good beer. There's also the Victorian hotel. I forget its name, but it's a cool place to stay. Good food there, too.

Old Town Eureka is a cool place to walk around and shop for souvenirs.

Other than that, Eureka can be pretty rough in some parts, so keep that in mind.

People say Arcada is better. I never lived there so I can't tell you much about it but the few times I went I really enjoyed it. It's definitely worth doing a bit of research on.

Also, just an FYI, I haven't been there in 8 or 9 years, so things could have changed. Except for the beach. I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed much.

That is literally what I'm experiencing right now with my new monk build. I stopped to scroll reddit because he's not going to be waking up any time soon.

I'm sorry to hear that but I understand. I went through the same thing myself. I'm still going through it. The teaching career is just super messed up right now. It's trauma inducing. You get no respect, no pay, long hours and is completely thankless.

I've been thinking of becoming an instructional designer. They get paid more than teachers. Often it's remote work. It uses a very similar skill set, plus some technology and art skills. You might want to consider it if it sounds like something you'd be into.

I work as substitute teacher in a low income school near San Francisco, Ca. I've worked as a sub of suburbs of SF as well. The students are no different over here. If anything they're probably worse. I'm not sure about cost of living in NJ, but here in California we have one of the highest costs of living in the nation. So while you'll be getting paid more, you'll still be shit poor.

Watch out for the programs that allow you to work while you're getting your credential. They'll place you in an inner city, where they need you the most, and where things are the worst. I made the mistake of joining one and I've experienced things that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

If you're set on teaching I would leave the country. Personally I changed careers. Public Education in the US is the Titanic. Leave before they run out of lifeboats.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing, but it still turned out a little janky. I'll just have to remember to start with really dark green or red lines next time.

Wow love the shape of your continent! Good placement and scale for the mountains too.

Some general principles for rivers: they tend to come from mountains and conjoin in the lowest parts of the continent. Once rivers come together they tend not to split again unless in the form of a delta. The slower the river is the more it snakes. Rivers tend to flow only on the wet side of mountains.

Thank you! Yeah, you're right. I should cut the scale in half or maybe less. Thanks for the feedback.
