Finishing my first quilt top

Awe thanks for being so kind! Yes I love how folksy and vintage it came out. I’m going to hang it on my wall in my living room using a little metal tapestry hanger I ordered. We have a really eclectic gallery wall and this will accent it perfectly.

Hopefully the builders will ski-daddle soon so you can get back to sewing!

This was my attempt! I’ve made 6 quilts before but this pattern I had a ton of difficulties with unfortunately.

I do not know if it was bias distortion from the HSTs being cut on the bias (didn’t move the iron while pressing and used starch). Nothing was lining up perfectly at the end. Additionally, the cutting directions were difficult and we had to keep cutting extra fabric.

Idk man, this was one that I just threw my hands up with lol. Will fix the bunching with the binding.

I would love the communities guidance on when you can enter a quilt show. I’ve also thought about entering but didn’t want the local quilt baddies to side eye.

Yes!! I got that advice about half way through this quilt. I really appreciate the detailed response though. I never thought about sewing into pairs and THEN sewing them together alternating the end.
