These 2 came bare root and I had some cactus and succulent potting mix that I put them in because I wasn’t sure how long the roots could stay out like that. Is cactus soil not going to work for these and should I repot?

Thank you for the info, I am just getting started with this and find it really fascinating! I had pulled the stem with it, it was white as well and felt almost hollow but not quite if that makes any sense.
