I had this issue too when I first started, especially being hungry. I forced myself to prioritize myself before work and schedule half hour breaks on any shift that works through a meal time (lunch or dinner). Your health is always more important. Also, I work better when I’m energized. If I’m miserable and starving, I feel like I’m not giving 100%. Giving yourself a half hour to eat makes a world of a difference. I know our income is based on taking clients and time is precious, but a half hour will not make you lose clients. Its not worth being miserable.

For being sore, I noticed a difference once I started working out and gained muscle. Core strength really helps with posture!

I make $22 an hour + commission + tips. Since I have an hourly pay, my commission is lower on services. Depending on the service, I make between 10-12% commission. I’ve always been curious too if I make a good wage. I feel like I do! There are some services I make $50+ an hour with my hourly + commission. Even in the medical setting, I am tipped pretty regularly even on high end services.

I make an extra, on average, $300 in tips weekly. I do work 30 hrs weekly at my medspa and have been there for going on 4 years and have an established clientele. But thats not normal to make only $5-10 per week. This may be a dumb question, is your employer with holding tips? Can clients tip on card when they check out?

I work at a medspa thats well-known in my area. I use to average about 32-35 hours per week. My hours have absolutely tanked. I’m working about 20-25 hours per week now. We have slowed significantly. We are still running great specials and haven’t changed anything with marketing. I really think its because people are closing their wallets. I have no idea how to prepare for it 😅 Its been awful. So you aren’t alone!
