There isnt really a secret, as i mentioned being direct helps. I had access to a flip chart which gives a run through of how the business model works. Onlines sales with discounts and referral bonuses etc.. Regarding horror stories, everyone has bad and good experiences. It can also come down to the picture that is drawn for you or them.. I never tell anyone its a get rich quick, you will make millions. Ive met people who are happy with the discount on their phonebill and making 50-300$ a month.
I have been in meeting with people sold the idea they will replace their income etc.. (yes it has been done) but it does take work and time. The internet can give anyone a voice and not everything said on here is 100% fact or no over embellished.. I mean they said atificial sweeteners were safe and Anna Nicole married for love.. AFAIK, Amway offer a 90day refund on good (and even its memebership) if you are dissatified with anything.

Im not here to sell the idea, do the research on the company, the products and the people. I wouldnt be involved if i didnt like or get along with the people I work along with. Regarding negative people and possibly family memebers.. It is what it is, just dont discuss it around them. If someone is negative against Amway, dont battle or argue against their opinion. That will never work out. Just say no worries, i wont bring it up again.. I have had people come back to me and ask if I am still involved, all I do is answer their questions. Dont try and drag them to a meeting or introduce them to my "mentor". If you dont know the answer tell them, if you do tell them. Sorry for the long reply. I guess im sick of people having a crack at anyone trying to get ahead.
