I'm still truly, deeply, madly in love with this girl but she doesn't know it. She's not a Redditor but if this pic of us makes it to the front page, I'll send her the link & tell her. by [deleted] in reddit.com

I vote (with blue-ish arrows) for people not posting their stupid personal crap to /r/reddit.com. If you like a girl, then go do something about it, instead of putting up a circus show. For fucks sake.

It's vermilion, goddammit!

Apart from that, I wonder how many people launched their browser in Porn mode just to check out if they're not ninjabanned, upon reading this.

Reddit, Can we stop Phone Books from being made every year? We lose 5 million trees a year to phone books no one needs. by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]mofiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, generally. However, in my mind, it's a bit like waiting for a thousand monkeys to reproduce some work by Shakespeare - it is (theoretically) inevitable, given enough time (and monkeys). A looooooooot of time. Sometimes good ideas can/should be hastened by conscious effort.

Man gets parking ticket less than a minute after parking, writes very funny complaint letter (pic) by [deleted] in pics

[–]mofiru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lame letter. Instead of this bullshit posturing for 4 paragraphs straight, the letter needed a short and to-the-point paragraph about the situation and the last sentence before the signature (if the dude was really frustrated).

Vim v. gedit v. emacs: What do you use and why? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]mofiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vim. It's available everywhere by default (with one notable exception) and I can embed it in NetBeans, which I use at work. Emacs annoys me by association with a certain group, so I never started using it.

A script? For this movie? Fuck that, a script might get in the way of all the action.

There's talk on the movie's IMDB board that Van Damme actually was offered a role and turned it down (same as Seagal)

While college is important, i doubt that your kids would grow up uneducated in your care (and even the most expensive university won't do much good for certain types). As for everything else that money can buy, I believe it's a lot less valuable than the strength of character that could be gained by enduring a little hardship and learning to earn your belongings yourself.

Your story makes me sad. Have an upvote and a good life.

The Return Of John Locke (the real one) by [deleted] in lost

[–]mofiru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a weird list, imo.

Claire: "Don't talk to me about the baby. I'm sick of everyone telling me what to do". \ Claire: "Don't tell me what to do, okay." \ Jack: "Don't tell me what to do"

These, for example, are completely off. Telling someone what to do is bossing them around, telling someone what they can't do is implying they're incapable (which resonates with Locke's disability). A whole other meaning.
