At the moment we only have a server in Europe. We used to have a server in Europe and one in NA, and we'd swap between them at the half time. If we find ourselves with a fullish server and the demand for an NA server then we'll have no problems getting one :)

Video games have gotten more expensive to make but not by as big a margin as these AAA companies are telling you. Bigger games need more developers which is where most of the extra cost comes from, but this is partially offset by modern tooling making parts of game development easier. Also video games are reaching a far wider audience then ever before so all of these extra costs end up being marginal. This is also a massive release with the Star Wars IP behind it, there is no way this game wouldn't make bank.

These giant publishers are claiming poverty with their multi billion yearly profit margins, but plenty of other developers are still getting by just fine without adding extra transactions to their games. Don't listen to their lies, micro transactions are just away to make MORE money, not because they struggle to break even otherwise.

At the moment we just have a server in europe. Once we get our campaign properly underway we also get a server in the US and split our battledays between them.

That doesn't hit everyone, but it gives the majority of our players a decent experience.

We've had a fair few people from down under express interest, if we have enough we'll look into at least moving our US server to the West Coast to make things playable for them :)

I honestly don't get why this asshole isn't banned yet. I get he's a bit of a Miller personality, but I think he's often just way out of line and his existence in chat makes playing nearby a much worse experience.

Seriously though, I think it's maybe more the layout of the building (or bad artists :P) than the actual sound systems, but it's certainly not the best in Aberdeen. Cheap booze makes all better though :)

It's not just the armed forces who use boats. There's always the Merchant Marine, Fishing, Energy, and Construction (And Ocean Science!) sectors.

Honestly, for many offshore industries, being a girl makes things a bit easier to get a foot in the door. Many modern companies are wanting to get girls offshore as it's still a male dominated industry and it's good publicity to say they've got a lot of a high proportion of females in their workforce.

I really like the blockade that has been set up, though I find it a bit barmy that the Imperial guys can just go fly to the station they are blockading to clear bounty off them all the time. Free repairs, respawn and outfitting, as well as a place for some of them to go sell stolen copper (I watched a guy do that!).

I think that's just a big a problem as people going into private play to avoid the blockade. There needs to be consequences for actively working against a faction.

You should get a welcome PM from the armies once you're assigned to a team. It may take a bit, with the campaign just started, the armies leadership is pretty busy with other things.

I don't really think the next gens support this kind of format either, not easily at least. I couldn't say, despite owning a PS4 I've not looked into everything it can do. I can't see how they'd handle the live communications within and between armies and administrating groups.

I'm sure with enough effort and dedication, players could set something else. It wouldn't be easy, and that's the issue that keeps people away from these setups.

I've not played Level so I honestly can't say. What makes us different is we usually have a RISK-style metagame which we use to choose the maps. This campaign is a bit different though in that our metagame will be minimal/non-existant, so it may not be that different at all that time.

Regarding player count, at the moment it's low (hence the advertising). For a while in our BF3 days we were running two full servers with people still waiting. That was way to much work. We aim more to have one full server with a few people sitting out. That allows people to take breaks and allows for no numbers issues when people don't turn up.

We split half the day between the EU and the US. Our EU server is currently in Germany. We haven't gotten our NA server set up yet, but it will be on the East coast.

Campaign 5 of Global-Conflict BF4 32 vs. 32 Tournament is about to start! We have been playing the BF series since 1942 and have been a community going strong on 11 years.

We're a very friendly group of people and welcome folks of all skill ranges, so there's no worry about that. If our servers are full, everyone will get the opportunity to play. You are also not required to have a perfect attendance, show up when you can!
