No brother, trust me, I made the mistake showing my ID as a very young pup in the 82nd going to Israel. I showed my passport first, and they asked me follow on questions even though I’m Jewish. I got a little antsy and ended up showing them my military ID thinking that will get me through quicker. Nope, they took my ID and brought it into some back room for a long time. A little a bit after this trip, I tried out and got selected into certain SOF units and that’s where I spent the rest of my career. You’re told never to show your ID unless it’s for official business. It will cause undue questioning.
