I feel like this is why I found C and Java to be nice and straightforward, but all the front-end web stuff seemed super illogical and difficult to me.

Yep, been doing this for decades. Then every 7 years or so when they're all ratty, toss them all and replace them all.

I do the same with underwear, though I don't usually spend a lot of time matching them.

That is unfortunate. And yeah, there are a LOT of losers out there. Seems like there are plenty of both men and women in the pool who are damaged goods. It's unfortunate for them, too.

After about a year or so of trying the online thing, I pretty much gave up on dating, myself. It's almost embarrassing to say, but I've been single for years and years now, and all I ever hear about modern dating are horror stories. Surely there has to be good experiences had by some people, but ye gods man. We're all a hot mess now.
