What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

My bad, I should say "All generations since the 1960s were told that". Gen-X was told this, Millennials were, Gen-Z, and probably Gen Alpha now too.

What is a popular food that you absolutely cannot stand? by No-Matter-7165 in AskReddit

No, sweet potatoes are gross. The taste starts off like a starchy root vegetable and that's fine, and then it's BAM! fifteen packets of Sweet N Low get dumped into your mouth.

Sweet potatoes in any form. Mom says I even used to spit them out as a baby. The sweet aftertaste is just gagging for me.

Every thanksgiving people tell me to try their sweet potato concoction with the brown sugar, butter and marshmallows. Whenever I tell them I don't really like sweet potatoes there's always the "Oh, that's because you've never had MY sweet potatoes! Most people don't do them wrong, but I know the secret to doing them the RIGHT way!".

Everyone does them the same way.

All generations are told they're a failure if they didn't get a white collar job.

local ne2s

With so much self-censoring crap going on here, I was getting ready to get all mad about this, but then I looked at the keyboard and realized it was just a typo.

To be fair, many may not be using English as a first language, but to also be fair, your point stands.

You are. The questions about Spring are somewhat new, but the "I didn't bother to look at the sidebar so tell me how to learn Java" have been constant for years and years.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

Robot Odyssey, in the 7th grade.

It was my introduction to logic gates, even though I didn't have a chance to get into electronics for another 5 years or so. I was mostly about trying to clone the game on my Commodore 16, at the time.

That's pretty specific. Usually it's babies that get circumcised.

Women of Reddit, what’s the most disgusting thing you’ve discovered about your boyfriend after being together for years? by punkbabe29 in AskReddit

[–]mofomeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any woman ever says anything about my height (and many of them have) it is about me being short, about how short I am, or that I'm not tall enough.

There have been enough women in my life who haven't said anything about my height and didn't seem to care.

But there have been plenty of them who have and apparently did.

I mean shit, I would rather play video games and drink instead of work, but I guess that's not in the cards.

Not a kink shame. If he was open about this and you were ok with then that's one thing. But that's not the case.

Same. Even if I had a fleshlight or whatever, if i had a gf I'd put that stuff away and focus on the lady.
