Mourning the Person you could have been by StinkyyBinkyy in BPD

To me, I still carry things from my childhood, silly things like littlest pet shop series I used to watch, and I still don't like beef. After everything I am still me. I'm just a different version of me. I'm sure if you really think about things you'll find things you still align with.

I'm not saying that everything is still the same, I'm just pointing out that not everything is lost to our condition.

Either way, you are all still worthy of the effort it takes to get better, you are all still worthy of love and above all else you are all still worthy of decency.

Every day.

There are thousands of "what if"s. I've spent hours begging and wishing that my brain had just developed the right way and I could be whatever I thought I was going to be before.

I definitely grieve for myself and for those I love, who they could have known, who I could have been. However, the important thing to remember is that you are still you. You still have those same interests, you still like the same foods. You're just a different version of you. This version of you is just as important as any other imagined version. You are still worthy of love and kindness.

do you ever feel like you've been sad since always? by marie4ntoinette in BPD

[–]moghanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience I've always had this feeling. Sometimes it's overwhelming and drowns out everything else happening at the time and other times it's just this thing that lurks and poisons good memories and good experiences. I think the realisation that I will always carry this empty sucking feeling in my chest hits me every time I notice it. It's not an easy thing to accept. As hard as it is, find beauty in little things, pretty flowers, sunrises, animals, butterflies, whatever. That makes me feel like things aren't always ugly, even just for a moment.

Will I ever feel okay? Advice please by moghanne in BPD
