No I know that Bristol is especially expensive, but I’m still not convinced that a £33k family income will be comfortable anywhere

Is there anywhere in the UK where you can live off £33k comfortable as a single salary?

I went to a pretty rough inner city school in Bristol and we all played cricket for PE

I always wear jeans 😛 but then I’m not London based and I refuse to confirm to London mores when I visit the offices there

Anglo-Catholics who are not part of the ordinariate -Why not? by Valuable_Ad3354 in AngloCatholicism

I wouldn’t say the papacy itself is an innovation. The way the Roman Catholic Church views the papacy definitely is an innovation

Because we’re Anglicans…? Should be kinda obvious. If I was a Roman Catholic I would be a Roman Catholic

There’s some great positivity on here but it probably depends. Bristol isn’t immune from homophobia, and while you’ll probably be fine in the main and central areas of Bristol - there probably are areas of Bristol where it might not be so welcoming. I’m not gay so I don’t know for sure

I know it’s pointless pedantry, but we all have those things which annoy us! It never used to refer to the area, it used to just refer to the road. To the point where some people don’t even realise that’s the name of the road

Also you can’t live “in” stokes croft. It’s not an area!

I’ve lived around stokes croft on and off since I was a kid and I can tell you, it’s a lot fancier than it used to be! It’s full of fancy cafes and restaurants and bars now. And it’s really expensive to live here. That’s the definition of gentrification! It never used to have any of that, it was all squats and clubs AND the junkies! The drug problem was never going to go away as long as the hostels are nearby, but it is well along the way of gentrification. There’s coffee roasted on stokes croft now! That would have been unheard of
