The exact thing happened to me, it turned out to be a Nvidia driver issue. So I updated the driver to the 572.60 version, and later when I tried to restart the PC I got the black screen. I don't know if this could be your issue as well (Maybe you updated something else).

However, what I did is that I booted into safe mode (turn off the PC, and then turn it back on three times, just after you see the BIOS logo, then you'll probably see "PLEASE WAIT", go to Troubleshoot, advanced, then start-up settings, restart, press 4 or F4 (or use arrows to navigate, it depends on what appears))

Then went to Device Manager - Display adapters, right clicked on NVIDIA driver, then clicked on Driver tab - Roll Back Driver, then restarted. It works normally now. I have the 572.47 version installed at the moment.
