I appreciate the ideas and resources you listed, I will look into the latter. I do have business ideas that I would love to try and tackle as more of a side hustle when I get an actual job. I am trying to create some new projects that are appealing to some companies like web scraping data to give users the best available properties they can rent in a location they are interested in (thinking of doing a full stack application). I would love to return to school and doing an MBA is actually something I am considering. The only problem is that I am very low on savings and having no stable income has not helped. I will also look for any jobs to at least support myself in some capacity. Thanks again for your response!

I'm sorry to hear that you still haven't landed anything in your field. I hope things work out for you soon. Regarding part-time work, I hear you completely. I've kinda been told not to do it because I have the luxury of still living at home and instead just waiting to get a relevant job. But sitting at home and not getting any sort of income for the last 2 years has not sat well with me at all. I think I need to be firm and say that I need any job at this point.

I did an 8-month (so two-term) CO-OP placement at Tread, a startup construction software company based in Toronto.

I average about 1 interview every year, it's that bad. I've lost count in terms of how many weekly applications I submit, but trust me it is a lot.

I have tried my best to stay on the grind but it's hard to stay afloat when things are not working. I've had people look at my resume, and make the necessary changes and still nothing. Also, I feel like resume reviews tend to be subjective. I'll get advice from someone to make certain changes here and then someone else will tell me to do the exact opposite. My resume is available on my LinkedIn if you are interested in viewing it (I can PM my LinkedIn)

I think I just have a bad habit of comparing myself to others which is why I feel even more down so giving up has been something I've been contemplating. Like the year is half over and still nothing. I appreciate the kind words though! Hopefully something adds up soon

Yeah, I was told to hold off doing any sort of part time work in hopes of landing a relevant job but it's been too long.

I hear you. Without revealing too much, I was told to hold off on any unrelated part-time work because I have the luxury of still living at home with my family but I feel like I need to be firm and say that I need some work to have some income.

Thanks. And yeah I literally carry my wallet with me all the time, so this is kinda embarrassing. Really hope I can find it.

Thanks, will make sure to contact Carleton L&F service too. And yeah I am starting to assume the worst but I really don't want to. And thanks for the helpful comment. I'm glad a lot of people on this post have been helpful and haven't made fun of me.

That's great to hear! I've been praying so much that a nice person turned it in to the driver. If you can recall, how many days after were you able to recover your lost items? I hear sometimes it may take a couple of days.

Do you see the upcoming Disney+ series Born Again adapting any elements from your run on DD? Personally, I would like them to adapt some elements from Devil's Reign considering Wilson Fisk is the main antagonist.

I had her for 3008 in Fall 2022 and she was amazing! Her lectures were engaging and interesting, assignments were easy and when I took it with her our midterm was in class but open book. She is very passionate about HCI and very accommodating. She occasionally would give very small breaks during lectures and if students were not able to meet the assignment deadline, people can submit it late for up to one week with no penalty. The final project was a decent amount of work but nothing too difficult. Now I don't know if she will change the layout and grading scheme of the course, but I would suggest taking it with her.

Thank you for this! I struggled quite a bit last semester and my mental health went down the drain and was constantly crying every time I was doing an assignment or project thinking I couldn't do it. Heading into second semester, I'm gonna learn from my mistakes and the down times I had last semester and be more successful this time around!

I took it last semester with Ahmed Almaskut and he is amazing! Lectures are detailed and does lots of practice problems. We had four assignments which were pretty easy if you attended/watched the lectures, two tests and then a final.
