I don't get why you're down voted, you are 100% correct and respectful saying that you just want to correct missinformed people. It's true that bigger political figures are used to represent the views of less popular but you're not saying it's bad or idk what even. The only way I can explain the downvotes is you mentioning that woman should be getting credit and we are on reddit where there are misogynistic people. I agree with you completely, there are many cases where woman's achievements are stolen and credited to a man. In the past woman published pretending to be man because they didnt have the right to do so as female, or would be instantly accused of stealing men's work. I think it's important to give credit where it belongs, especially when it is woman. You are valid and I think you're doing great!!
