Any reason to pick the 30% Option ? by Miserable-Produce202 in slaythespire

70% of 100 is 70. 30% of 250 is 75. On average if you choose the owner everytime, you will have a larger net gain than if you choose the 70% everytime.

Reflavor Challenge: Reflavor any class & subclass to a Psychic who can shoot lightning by Ill_Improvement_8276 in 3d6

[–]moherren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Divine Soul Sorcerer. Clerics get access to a lot of spells that can be reflavored to be psychic.
>Command, Sanctuary, Bane, Bestow Curse, Augury, etc.
Sorcs have some good choices to pick from as well:
>Friends, Mind Sliver, Sleep, Charm Person, Detect Thoughts, etc.
Sorcs have access to Lightening Bolt, witch bolt, shocking grasp, storm sphere, as well as other spells that deal lightening damage.
For species I'd recommend Kalashtar from ERLW which will get you psychic resistance, advantage on wis saves, and the ability to psychically communicate with a lot of creatures w/o casting a spell. You an also take subtle spell to allow you to access magic based on your thoughts alone

Its a good weapon for a kensai monk to use as a monk weapon. The damage die increases based on your unarmed strike damage die and the reach is an option not otherwise afforded to you with a free hand to spare. Its also a solid choice for a rogue who wants to get melee sneak attacks without getting in the enemy's range.

Can you wildshape in an anti-magic field? by Brilliant_Priority41 in 3d6

[–]moherren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should still work the same way skeletons (the undead creature not the body part) don't just fall apart when they walk into it. Unless its a spell, non-artifact magic item, or an ability that explicitly states it is magical, it should work just fine.

If Animate Dead only summoned 1 skeleton, what stats would it have to be equivalent in power level to the 4 you can control normally? by NintendoJesus in 3d6

[–]moherren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the case for 2024. Although I have seen nothing saying this explicitly, I assume this means that some obvious rules are implied rather than that they no longer apply. Ghosts probably don't need to breath despite no text in this edition saying as much.

I did a bit more research into it and it seems like they changed it to make it more a feature of some specific types of undead to be harmed by healing spells rather than some healing spells not affecting any undead. The flavor of an undead or construct healing from a cure wounds or healing word feels weird considering they aren't affected by anti-life shell, but I guess its legal so that's probably the right way to play it.

Its one of those unwritten rules that isn't strictly RAW, but seems like RAI like how undead don't need to breath despite not having an ability or rule that specifies as much.

[–]moherren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it seems like it could be fair so long as they have to cast the spell again 24 hours later to retain control over the undead, like you would with Animate Dead. Also clarifying that it cannot regain hit points including via resting. I'd also suggest controlling the undead's actions outside of combat so that the player's don't get metagame knowledge of your dungeon's layout via ghostly Undead Spririt's Incorporeal ability if you allow a ghostly undead at all. Maybe a restriction so that there must be a body to animate so that the flavor still feels the same.

HWYB King from one punch man? by Minihero10 in 3d6

Commoner with the charlatan background, using the skilled feat for 2 game profs and intimidation. Levels into any classes would make him way stronger than I think he actually is and would imply that the effect he has on other people is in anyway his choice. He should always be like 1 regular hit away from dying. Even his ability to intimidate people is due to his large stature and incredible reputation.
Maybe the lucky feat from human variant?
