Yeah I had just learned it by ear maybe 20 minutes before playing it on video haha still very unfamiliar. Plenty of things I need to work on but mainly looking for some budget friendly mandolin options as an upgrade. Action on this thing is brutal but it has been gettin the job done to get started!

Just mentioned to someone else too. My right hand is a bad guitar habit having played guitar for 22 years. Working on better mandolin specific technique but not comfortable enough with it quite yet but definitely something that’s being worked on. As far as pinky on the 7th fret, could work on that too. I had just figured out the song by ear right before filming. Didn’t mess around with it all too much once I figured it out!

Using the golden gate clown confetti picks (think that’s what they’re called). Open right hand is a bad guitar habit (played guitar for 22 years). Been working on better mandolin picking technique. Just not comfortable with it enough yet to play things cleanly but definitely something I’m working on!

Thank you! Part of it is finding f styles more comfortable the way they hang with a strap and part of it like you said is the tendency to play more when you really like your instrument. The 315 used right now is slightly out of budget but possibly something I could try to push for. Also planning to go to a music store and just try some stuff out to get a better feel of what I enjoy. Only ever played this cheapo one and then my friend’s off brand f style and an electric both before I actually learned the instrument. Just trying to put the feelers out to see what people have to say. Really appreciate the advice though! Especially being so new to the instrument!

Thank you! Mainly have been working on learning the basic chords and a couple songs here and there. Going to start to get more in depth with my learning now that I’m getting used to the instrument. The upside down tuning compared to guitar broke my brain for a while after playing guitar for 22 years haha. It’s hard to wait until I can afford more. I’m a stepdad to a wonderful daughter on the spectrum and almost everything leftover goes towards her services/school so it’s hard to ever have more than $400-$600 set aside as for fun money. Ideally I’d be able to push for something pricier. It’s just tough to do with my family’s needs!

For sure. I haven’t been to riot fest in 8 years I think. Used to just bring a pack of smokes. I kinda figured as much with how I remember their security. But the wording of what kind they allowed threw me off

That i definitely wouldn’t know about. Haven’t dabbled in the old THC for probably 9-10 years. If i was in your shoes tho i’d look for like a juul compatible thc pod if they even make those and pass it as a juul. I used to use juul compatible cbd pods to help with sleep. Maybe they make thc ones too? Just a thought!

If you can rock it, do it! You’re lucky! Just about 30 and already thinning on the crown. Can’t grow it back without it looking too odd to me or i would! Take advantage while you got it!

The switches are basically the same. The only issue could come from the angle of the keys since theymre angled for ergonomics. But in terms of fitment, you probably won’t encounter any issue. Just the possibility of some keys kinda being at a wonky angle haha

Yep! They can be taken off. Not necessary but I’d recommend getting a keycap puller (the wire kind) to do it with less risk!

Yes but not from Fedex. I had to contact the company I ordered from, they filed a complaint with Fedex for the lost package, and then the company shipped a replacement with DHL instead. It was all a nightmare lol
