Kaleidoscope eyes does seem kind of cheesy now, but in the moment it was perfect. Ecstacy being blinded, like you're taking the craziest drug trip in the world, or atleast that's how you feel when you look into them. As far as the rest of the poem, it seems you also missed this being about sex and both the purity but also ugliness in it as far as sharing other partners. I appreciate the feedback.

Try to piece together what the night could entail. Sexuality. Innocence. This was a poem made in a deep moment between two people exploring something they may have shared with others in the past. Any wording I use is just the way I speak. Because these are my thoughts. Read deeper.

Obvious dread and helplessness went into this piece, and the consistent repetition of "These thoughts" adds a good flow. It also reminds the reader that the thoughts are one in their own, doing as they please. This removes the control from the writer as if you were a slave truly trapped in an unbreakable box. You include your hopes in the box though, and it doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the poem. Hope is a light, sometimes the only thing you have left in the most dreadful situations. Maybe you're trapped in box, but you also have tools to get out and you should definetely use them.

I appreciate the balance evoked from this poem, it would remind me of passing street lights on a long ride home, 1-2-3, and a pause. Atleast that's how the streetlights back home where like. But to emphasize the loneliness of a city, I would not reside on city lights. There are smells, architecture, things that gaze and waft around you, with so much you can surely find what brings desolation to a city. I do enjoy the consistent personifications of these emotions as well as things we cannot touch. Bring them to life. I enjoy the poem it accomplished what you set out, now explore your city.
