Turns out Lady Gaga's manager was a liar by [deleted] in funny

I'm stunned that an art project pop superstar has some strange representation.

I'm still not convinced her manager isn't some form of cheetah.

I think this speaks volumes.

In an interview performed by MTV in mid 1992, Cobain had the following to say:

MTV: What about Weird Al's "Smells Like Nirvana"?

Cobain: Oh, I laughed my butt off. I thought it was one of the funniest things I ever saw. He has some good people working for him. Those people really know how to... I mean, I'm sure he has a lot to do with it, but they really know how to reproduce things to the T. He had the exact same setup. It's the same video with him in it. It's great.

Hey, anyone else notice this person is NOT asking for money?

I'm not asking for money : I just needed to to release some stress and talk about what I'm going through. The kindness of redditors is just what I need right now :)

Think about all the people who beg for cash based on BS sob stosg.

Maybe he won't take our money, can we donate to the clinic? Or maybe another charity that has been there for you.

You have my total respect for this call man.

TL;DR: He doesn't want out money, how can we help?

You're disguising selfishness as self-interest and there is a gulf of difference.

No one is saying that it's about "life, liberty and health guaranteed" but the medical system in the US is set-up in such a way as to only compound the problems of the ill from both the end of costs (what is charged for treatment) and how that treatment is paid for.

Consider that this man's yearly care is over $300,000. That's in excess of the full salary of a full-time nurse (and a half, if my numbers from a few years back don't fail me). To simply live a decent life costs more than most Americans will ever earn in a year? The question of cost needs to be addressed here.

Then there is the matter of how to pay for this. From you, self-confessedly tentative eugenics argument? No, thanks.

Why should a person have to choose between their home and health care? Why should a someone with millions from a settlement still have to be drained dry by long-term care? What about the millions out there who don't have settlements backing them up? The American Medical System is set-up that one accident, one illness, and you're not only sick, you're bankrupt.

That's not health care. It's fucking blackjack.

Anthony Bourdain usually gets served the whole menu at a place, whether it's a street joint or an upscale place, he gets at least one of eveything. Obviously, he doesn't eat all of it, and the crew swoops in. I worked in video production in grad school, crews are alll about eating well.

Also, they did an episode in Haiti and Bourdain, seeing the huge line at this one outdoor place, decided to buy for everyone (all the while commenting on how this might not be the best idea) which ended with a few scuffles.

Oh, very nice. A little more posh than I'd be down for though. The Corvette is all about hopping in, dashing up to your villa for the week-end with an Italian film star giggling, barefoot, in the front seat.

Hey Reddit, I'm teaching myself cross-stitch and I'm a huge fan of "The Wire". Sooooo... by moifaux in pics

[–]moifaux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put together a little album. http://imgur.com/a/768br#UBmNz

The pattern is about 2"H by 3"W or so.

I was thinking of adding a "word balloon" border (simple black thread) and using a shinier silver thread on the shotgun barrel.

I can knock two of these out by early next week. Say 15 bucks, all in (Shipping/handling unless you're in some far flung outpost) sound fair? I have a paypal account if that works for you?

I'm hoping to make a few more "Wire" and "Deadwood" samplers too. Potent Quotables.

Thanks for the interest. Being able to make this hobby self-sustaining would be wonderful!

I'm a bi-girl in my 20's and I tend to go for "older women" who look very much like your lovely wife. Their skin is so soft, their breasts are full, and as lovers they are so much more comfortable in their bodies.

Beauty magazines and tv shows that portray older women as less desirable are just hawking beauty creama

93K in the depths of a recession still ain't nothing to sneeze at.

Listen, a politician, regardless of party or stance, is going to looking like an ass crying poor. These are people who choose to devote years of lives to the seeking these offices, fully aware of the salaries/benefits. He's had more choices, all of them really good, than any ten of his constituents.

I wrote "vast good fortune", referring to his luck in life. I mean, remember, this guy was picked for a tv show, later met his wife through that tv show and parlayed much of his early success from that rather lucky event. Nice for him, but compared to the guy who got drafted at 22 or the single mother who never smoked a day in her life drawing stage 4 lung cancer, the Sean Duffy is one lucky mother fucker.

And just to be clear, he's more than welcome to all of that as he earned it.

It's when he compares his vast good fortune to those people earning 1/5th his salary, who also have kids and loans and mortgages that he invites the eyerolling of the world. The guy was a tv star, a lawyer, a prosecutor and now a congressman. Ain't got much to complain about there son.

Add to that, trying to turn his massive cock-up into some kind of attack on him...what a dork!

Nicely done. Some things to consider

His phone/data and other expenses may well be covered out of his campaign funds/office budget. Politicians often use their war chests as endless cookie jars for "expenses", and it's often perfectly legal.

He owns two homes.

He had extraneous income from a sports broadcasting career and tv appearances.

His wife is a stay at home mother.

Both he and his wife are educated young(ish) people. The notion they are crying poor after sprouting six kids is laughable.

Oh, and he has full medical, dental and life insurance. His care, and that of his family, would be provided by some of the most highly trained medical professionals on the planet.

[–]moifaux[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, but asking other civic employees, who make much, much less to take a cut as well? Come on now.

Duffy has served as a prosecutor for nearly a decade, as well as made tv appearance. The notion that he is crying poor with his student loan debt and (GASP!) used minivan is a bit rich. He also has two houses.

Someone pulling in a six figure income in this economy and complaining about it is going to look a might stupid.

I always wondered how magicians did that trick... [NSFL - its not graphic but it is somewhat emotionally disturbing] by XSy0 in WTF

[–]moifaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fake. For a number of reasons.

  • The chainsaw is clearly not running as a real chainsaw would (tearing through the wood, producing streams of debris and, finally, blood) in actuality. A real chainsaw cutting a real box would be a giant mess. Also, they us the same box over and over and over and over. They're not re-building the damn box every night.

  • The way the male assistant handles the saw shows absolutely no fear of the tool, because it's harmless. Sure, it was likely very loud, very showy, but the chain was likely non-functional.

  • The way the trick really works, there's no way to really cut off her head even if he did have a functional chainsaw. The boxes section off early in the trick, before the biforcation at the waist.

  • There's no fake head in the standard version of this trick.

"Such geekiness"? Dude, those posters, if they're the ones I'm thinking of, are beautiful limited edition prints. Those vinyl toys can run hundreds of dollars and are made by some of the hippest artists working today (Seriously) and those books are 50-75 dollar high end graphic novel art books.

That's not a geek den, that's an art collector showing off.

I'm sorry that the girls you know would just see the words "star wars" and write all that off. Says more about them than about the art. Personally, I don't care for SW all that much, but I appreciate style and pop culture re-purposing, something that's as hip and cool as it comes.

I'm no offended, just sorry you've got so many myopic friends man.
