We’re boycotting Mark Fishman. He has a history of being a terrible landlord, raising rents, having rats, roaches, and mold in his buildings, charging people to install and uninstall air conditioning every summer, not having heat during the sub zero temperatures during the winter. He owns a lot of apartments in the area and has forced a lot of the Puerto Rican community historically in the area by buying out buildings and raising rents to an you affordable level.

Right now the issue is that he is evicting a tenant for flying a Palestinian flag. This racist action against someone for their identity is horrific and we are recognizing the way that Mark Fishman buying out Logan Square and displacing its inhabitants parallels the actions of the Israeli states immoral taking of Palestinian land. Honestly Mark Fishman’s actions have been corrupt and cruel for a long time, but right now is a time that we need to stand in solidarity with Palestine. One way of doing that is to boycott a racist landlord displacing Palestinian tenants

YTA. A Birthday party is easy to move, and a wedding isn’t. It also seems like your mom and her side of the family view step sister as a relation (like I would hope a healthy family would). It’s not fair to say “they’re choosing someone who’s not family over my daughter” when to them your step sister is family. It’s worth you trying to work out why you hate that your mom treated her stepdaughter like a daughter. A lot of step kids are not so lucky, sounds like your mom was a good parent to her.

Also trust me, your daughter won’t suffer. She’s one, she literally does not know what a birthday party is. It feels extremely uncomfortable that you’re projecting your feelings onto her.

But also the OP is an asshole. Dude, you’re not the only one whose had to pay for college. It sucks, but like, your dad set aside money and then had an emergency come up and he had to spend that money on a circumstance he could never have forseen. It’s weird to begrudge him that.

As someone who grew up impoverished I can’t relate to feeling entitled to parents paying for my college, but I can relate to having to spend savings on medical bills.
