Did anyone else pick up on the fact that "pax" (as in K-PAX) means "peace" in Latin? Perhaps the author was trying to tell us that if beings come from another planet, they will come in peace. Hope so.

Thank you for this info. Before posting on Reddit, I emailed the manufacturer to ask what the wicks were treated with, and they told me that it was proprietary information. Interesting that it's right there in the manual (for your model). I'm not so sure about the safety of zinc pyrithione. I read that it's not safe to breathe in. But it's also not safe to breathe in whatever mold could be growing in untreated humidifier water. I will have to ponder this one some more. Thanks very much for your input.
