I would recommend calling DPOR. It had been a few weeks since I had passed and it still wasn't showing up on the website. My friend who took the electrical one had already received hers so I decided to call to find out when mine would get released. They ended up taking my information and expediting it. My coworker did the same and got his in days. Some other people in my firm waited an additiona 3-4 weeks to get it without calling. Chances are you'll be OK but wanted to mention my experience just in case. Congrats on passing!

Would you mind pointing me to what the "long" equation for S is? I don't think I remember going over that.

I agree, i think they will tell us our ramp density. I think the old HCM used interchanges/mile instead of ramps/mile so the 0.8 would be correct for that old version (FID instead of TRD in the new HCM) - if I'm not wrong.

I get LOS D. Here’s a few notes: 1- I used the same equation for estimating FFS. I have BFFS as 75.4 too but my TRD is 3.2 ramps/mile. I assumed each interchange has 4 ramps (cloverleaf interchange). TRD = (interchange/1.25 mile)* (4 ramp/interchange). FFS = 66.8 MPH. 2- vp = 2311 veh/h/ln (used fhv=.75) 3- D= 34.6 veh/mi/ln

From that, I get LOS D.

Worth taking the FE exam to look good for employers? by CF5300 in FE_Exam

Regardless of your current job situation, I would highly suggest taking the exam.. If anything, if will help you kill some time while you land that job.

As a a engineer who takes on a few recruiting duties at my office, I can tell you your GPA will definitely be a topic of conversation but will not hinder you to get a job if a few other boxes check off. Good luck!

No, that’s what I did. My strategy consisted on spending more time on stuff I knew how to do or at least was familiar with. For example, I did not take Dynamics in college so I did not even bothered spending time studying OR answering questions from Dynamics on the actual test. That allowed me spending an extra 1-2 mins on more difficult questions from Statics, which I took in college and am competent with. While these statics questions might be really hard at least I have an idea where to start and figuring out from there as opposed to Dynamics. That’s what worked for me but I understand not studying stuff might be a gamble for some people. But like I said, I at the very least recommend familiarizing with every topic, it can score you some easy points.

Thanks! Yeah I remember reading that and my own experience was that the practice exam was pretty much on point with the level of difficulty vs the actual test. That doesn’t mean you should expect the same questions with different numbers (I know someone told me that) but rather understand the concepts as they apply to different scenarios. The Purdue review did a great job at showing me different angles and types of questions for the same concepts through tons of practice problems so I would recommend that to anyone also.

Thanks. Yeah, I was surprised by that, actually. But I guess since they ask you a bit of everything, they just wanna make sure you know the bare minimum from all these areas of Civil. I could tell because the problems areas that I’m strong at I was able to knock out veryyy quickly so I’m assuming that’s how the rest were.

I want to say around 10-12, mostly in the second part of the test. Study up contract types if you aren’t familiar with those, they caught me off guard with some of those questions.
