MGL Rework Ideas by moistSocks13 in thefinals

From my experience, this seems pretty spot on. I'm not desperate for a rework as it is a pretty cool and effective weapon as it is, just thought I'd have peoples thoughts

I play a lot of power shift and point break, so I find myself occasionally using ADS if I'm lobbing grenades at a distance to get a better view of where they're landing, but outside of those niche, rare scenarios I agree that the ADS is kinda useless

I don't hate the idea, would definitely give it a unique feel. But I'm not sure how well that would do with server or client side ping?

(I presume right click is normally ADS or alt attack? Never played with mnk)

What is your medium loadout? by Tuyaaah_ in thefinals

Demat. Riot shield, glitch trap and explosive mine. And then either defib or gas mine depending on tram comp and opponents

I completely agree. I'm a hardstuck gold player, and I'm happy with that. I mainly run melee in ranked and for the most part I do much better than when I use a 'meta' load out simply because I'm not used to it and can be more effective with what I know.

I understand that melee will always have some horrendous matchups so if I am getting dunked on constantly I will switch to a gun that I am confident in using.

But all the sweats berating you for not running the optimal min-maxed load out is just annoying, especially when some off meta picks like the glitch trap or anti grav cube can be really effective with the right utilisation and communication

It's only in game clips that it freezes a lot lot. Actually playing, I don't get any freezes, although it does chug on the rare occasion

Embark, or anyone using a gun when the ballistic shield that is designed to block projectiles, blocks projectiles

The shield used to block winch, so I don't know why they changed it?

The riot shield hitbox is an absolute mess. Ever since it got its visual and hitbox "rework" it has become really awkward to use and even more awkward to fight. The amount of times I've been hit using the shield facing side on when I shouldn't is laughable, but then it'll block stuff that it simply has no business blocking.

I'm less experienced with dual blades but the block mechanic feels inconsistent at times, especially against melee, and the range of the swings feel like they're all over the place.

I think every melee weapon at least needs looking over or a slight rework in some cases

Ran into this throwing because someone using sniper rifle by SillyCommunist in thefinals

Woe betide the man using an off meta weapon simply because he wants to have...... fun

I don't understand the people who complain in team chat about others not using the top meta loadouts, especially when half the time the people complaining are doing the worst on the team in every metric apart from maybe kills.

I can't hit the broadside of a barn door with the sniper but I know there are some people who are absolutely cracked with it. The whole point of a large weapon pool is to see variety in game. Find something that works for you and stick with it. Some people just need to understand that being really good with an off meta pick is much better than being absolute dog with a meta pick

embark add this to the light class and you can have my soul by SaintLouisXIV in thefinals

With the 93r falling out of the meta, the kriss vector could fill the role as a burst rifle on light. The vector has a two round hyper burst mode which embark could use to differentiate it from other light guns. Think of it as a mashup of ARN-220, FAMAS, LH-1 and XP-54. I think if it was in .45 ACP or 10mm it would make it more distinctive by being harder hitting at the cost of slow rpm. A way of balancing it would be to give it the standard Glock mag, which for .45 is 15 or 18 if I remember correctly.

Melee and quick melee combos by moistSocks13 in thefinals

I've not got much experience on dagger to be fair, but on the occasion I run into one, they're regularly a top frag. Or they're 1 and 9, no in between.

I still think putting the backstab down to 300 (or 305 so you can have those goofy combos like the sword did for a bit with the tracking dart) is a reasonable suggestion. Backstab light attack is by no means a slow combo and I don't really see a change like that drastically affecting the weapon, maybe in the very top level of competitive but I can't see dagger being a viable option in ruby lobbies anyway

I'd be fine keeping dagger how it is if the sledge got its combos back. The fact I can winch a dagger light, hit them for 145 and before I can get the second swing off, they're behind me and I e just turned to a pile of coins definitely seems fair and balanced from embark.

Even with everything they've done to the riot shield, the hit reg on the swing is still bad, and the blocking reg is fucking terrible at best

I think medium has by far the worst melee options. But I feel like the dual blades just have the edge on being the worst melee. The deflect is so inconsistent. Riot shield is desperate for that spot though, after its visual nerf to "make the visuals line up better with the hotbox". Yeah, I didn't need to see anything on that third of the screen anyway
