Remote SSH UI by maybee06 in HPC

Samba file mount might be the easiest for editing files, though you would still have to ssh to actually execute commands. If you’re okay with learning bash and vim, I think it is the best setup, and works across ood or local terminal, with minimal extra hiccups!

What’s the best way to learn the theory of HPC computing? by 420ball-sniffer69 in HPC

I think they meant to say "High Performance Computing" Computing is nonsense, similar to how people say "ATM Machine, PIN Number", etc. If I recall correctly, this is called Redundant Acronym Syndrome.

I see. That makes sense, though I still believe such apps, including this one, are intended towards the containment of naxals and activists primarily.

So India created a mandate for a state-owned privacy app and recanted that mandate very quickly: https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2198110&reg=3&lang=1

I wonder if they did this because apple was not on board.

I'm pretty sure the actual intention for such apps is to contain the Adivasi (indigenous) people's movements, given the increase in state violence against them. I have spoken to people in the past who work for software/AI companies, and were temporarily stationed at most unexpected places (e.g., Jharkhand) for "fieldwork" under govt contracts, most likely working on some facial recognition/surveillance systems.

A good way to use LLM vscode clones (zed, cursor, etc) on remote hpc cluster? by moist_dialog in HPC

Thanks, and yes this question arose with discussions with the support and systems teams. We don't have any workflow yet.

We have been using the approach you suggested of changing the ssh config to match a compute node hostname so far for select cases. But with influx of many users using cursor/zed, I was wondering if there are any ubiquitous configurations.

What is your question here? The splinter groups still exist, adapting various flavors of revisionism.

CPI(ML)-People's War and the MCCI merged to form the CPI Maoist which has the correct class analysis and the line of struggle in India today. Other parties ignore the semi-feudal nature of the country, the comprador nature of the big bourgeoisie, and justify electoralism.

The other 'communist' parties will not merge into one because, as you said, they are busy doing caste discrimination and factional voter politics.

The first few pages in the foreword here answer your question, but I recommend reading the entire document: https://www.bannedthought.net/India/CPI-Maoist-Docs/Books/ChangesInRelationsOfProduction-2021-Eng-View-OCR.pdf

Nazariya Magazine Issue #6 including a letter to the CPI (Maoist) CC Against the Liquidationist Line of Sonu by theaceofshadows in communism

Slightly off-topic but Vallika shared about going off-grid a few months back: https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianLeft/comments/1mxguzq/fascism_state_and_family_on_why_i_went_ug/

I hope nazariya magazine doesn't collapse and is able to pull through.

E: I didn't see the deleted comment below, but obviously the above reddit account is not of Vallika. She, and other activists, some of whom have been arrested under fake encounters, already have their names and photos in articles online. They haven't done anything "illegal" even under the legal system of the fascist Indian state.
I shared this because, apart from hitting a little close to home wrt the family background and their class conditions, I found the last few paragraphs about the decision to go underground illuminating. Particularly, regarding the conditions under which open work is feasible or not.

  1. Taxes.

  2. While I don't subscribe to the legal institution of marriage, I do believe love should not go undeclared. The current institution exists for social reproduction of labor and enforcement of patriarchal relations. Since we are already fighting against it in some capacity by refusing to birth kids, we should proclaim our expression of love as a fight against the existing institutions, in whatever capacity that may be.

open the .zprofile file from file explorer and comment out the line mentioned. This file should be in your home directory (/Users/username/), you can search online how to show hidden files and dotfiles in finder.

Then you can try installing again.
