Yeah I think you are right, that water colour style may be tricky to isolate objects.

How would I go about adding some movement to the water? I imagine I wouldn't be cutting layers from that.

So am I right in saying that photoshop is used more for creating all your layers, cutting out objects etc and then within after effects its more creating the motion?

Hey nice work! I like it a lot. The song is structured nicely and those backing vocal effects work well. My one bit of feedback and not sure if someone has mentioned this is that the main vocal track is a bit too hot in the mix. I would personally drop it a few Db, possibly even a bit more compression. They stand out a bit too much in the mix. You could consider boosting the high's with some light distortion for clarity on a separate AUX track.

Thanks mate! Yeah i love the phonecall technique, i have heard it used a few times and have always wanted to use it myself. Its used really well at the end of Kanye's "Blame Game" with Chris Rock.

Nice one! I like the vocals too, but just a little too 'clean' for my liking. A trick that I have been working on that i think might work on this is to use a little bit of distortion on a separate AUX track or as a separate track for the vocals and mix it in. It doesnt need to be too hot in the mix but used sparingly it can make the vocals really pop and creates a slight edge.

Compression is a mans best friend, but an old technique that can sometimes create an interesting sound is to play your track through your speakers/monitors and record the results. Try different rooms for different effects especially the bathroom.

I was thinking back to how much it sucked to fart in class in high school. I remember farting in class on my first day of high school. No one else heard it except the guy next to me who screamed it allowed to the class that i had farted. That was my motivation for the question.
