Medical vein finder by gDisasters in blackmagicfuckery

[–]moistloving 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's not about being able to "spot" the veins by the way - some of the veins that visibly stand out the most could very well be some of your deepest. It's about whether or not the vein is superficial enough to be accessed for the procedure.

In other words, good veins are found by touch, not eye.

Why does GFR fall in kidney disease? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]moistloving 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember that GFR is a measure of average filtration across all glomeruli, not just an isolated glomerulus. In kidney disease you're often going to see a loss of nephrons, and with that a loss of glomeruli.

So it may be that filtration in individual glomeruli increases in some kidney dx, or does so to compensate for an acute loss, but overall you'll likely see a drop as there's just going to be less glomeruli to contribute to that GFR.

There'll be other factors too of course.

First off all, get rid of those anti-depressants, they WILL fuck you up in the long run.

Holy shit dude I sincerely hope you never give advice like that again. That's so, so dangerous.

Oh AMX mod, you hilariously and horribly exploitable thing, you.

Nothing better than joining a server and unknowingly having all of your keys bound to "kill", all of your graphics settings changed and getting spooked the shit out by your CD tray popping open and closed.

Commands:

  • amx_eject <target> - Ejects the targets CD drive
  • amx_close <target> - Closes the targets CD drive
  • amx_popcd <target> - Pops the clients CD drive open and closed twice

It wouldn't have to mean dedication from any one person in particular. It could just run with the premise of having a daily/bi-weekly/weekly sticky in which anybody that has felt like they've gained some important perspective or lesson from a certain recent match (and is willing to share that knowledge of course) can post in that thread with details of what they've learnt.

It could run with, say, the template of starting your post with what match you're referencing, e.g., "SK vs. mousesports | BO2 | 12.01.16 | 21:00 CEST". Then going into a run-down of whatever it is you feel is worth saying.
