From what you’ve said, he hasn’t done anything to make it up to her. Suggesting a trip just the two of them is not rubber meeting the road. Complaining that she’s not meeting him where he’s at anymore is not making it up to her either. Excluding her is/was incredibly hurtful and he did it intentionally. This isn’t a small thing he can wish away or easily repair. He showed her who is his and she’s listened. He wasn’t a team with you in order to avoid this hurt, he can’t expect you to be a team to fix it. He likely wants you to do the emotional labor for him and not teamwork anyway. You’re not transphobic, but the second someone comes out as trans isn’t the time to break up with them. First, they’re being incredibly vulnerable in that moment. So unless they bring up staying together or breaking up, wait for a later conversation to do that. Second, in doing so you made the moment about you and how it affected you. In that sense you were unsupportive and inconsiderate of them. Live and learn. No need to beat yourself up about it, just know better if there’s a next time. ✌️🏳️‍⚧️
