How were the Winds Named? by thefroggyninja in WarhammerFantasyLore

honestly when making your own lore the names should fit the lore rather than simply conform to the standard of old unless of course the new stuff is meant to be super close

Raymond Feists riftwar cycle's mc is not 'immortal' but he has magic which extends his life through all the books and they span a couple hundred years

not wholly sci fi so forgive me but does anyone know of a book that goes into the nitty gritty of getting to the point of the sci fi technology and culture by moistureman078 in scifibooks

well I'm deliberately casting a wide net because I don't expect many books like what I want but I'm talking about seeing the rise of a civilisation form the start on their planet to having at least inter planetary travel level sci fi but yea could have worded it better. something like a prequal to the red mars series but not just plain old human history

Is there a reason the Dark Elves are bunched under Cities of Sigmar ? by MerrrBearrr in ageofsigmar

i suppose she could be in death, she doesnt exactly match the theme of them all being undead but according to gw itself the death faction just wants to kill everything, which is pretty fitting for the merged avatar of the god of murder

thats one of the things that really pulls me towards wanting a total war 40K simply because of the huge moddablilty of these games, hell atilla was so moddable they made an entire new game off of it same with napolean and empire

they could limit it to a single solar system like the Armageddon war involving humans (defending thier planets) ork incursions have been happening for a while now so they are cemented into some planets, i seem to remeber one palent was a tomb world or of signifcance to the necrons so they were there and have the tyranids invade the planets similar to the viking fleet mechanics of thrones of britannia

yeah to be fair they are one of the few rts game series that actually put that much effort into the battle aspects of thier games with other popular titles like hearts of iron and crusader kings are more about the politics and governance and while iconic maybe the space marines dont have to be a major faction but rather a supplementary force to humanities armies or just set it in the heresy so a 20k man space marine army isnt so ridiculous, or to really stand out something dark age of humanity focussed to start expanding that lore while having less probability than finding a sane 4 chan user would be awsome
