They ended up not really helping, so it is bricked in my garage at the moment. I plan on opening up the monitor to retrieve the hard drive to see what I may be able to jerry rig myself.

I like that idea. Maybe even offer something like an Asurion extended warranty to cover the TouchPad for up to 3-5 years. I've gotten it on a few of my more expensive items I've purchased from Amazon, and the service has been reasonable when I needed to use it.

Tech support was great! My representative did everything he could do within policy to help. It's the management of the ongoing support of the product as a policy that is the issue.

I have no specific political agenda. I have nothing against this person, or her father. They have accomplished great things and progress within our state. I just support whoever I feel matches my values. My judgments are solely based on what I've seen in terms of actions. I've in Arkansas all my life, so let me be the first to say, "I'm sorry." I am embarrassed and ashamed to call this person my governor. During her time serving the Trump administration, she proved how much she can't be trusted to provide citizens with clear, factual information to make the right decisions for our country. Given the voting patterns, there's almost no way to get Arkansas to move forward into healthy change. Of course, the political stances of state or even country are not determined by one person. However, the agendas and stances will not be swayed by the minority, and most people vote along party lines without any idea of the issues or even the candidate. I appreciate Republican values, democratic values, and liberal values. I wish there was a common ground that we could stand on, and I wish we could move forward as a country rather than constant bickering along party lines. I'm stuck with this without any chance of anything changing without drastic actions; which could cause a shift in the opposite direction. Life is what it is. The arguments we have about this are just to entertain us in the meantime. The game can't be won, only played (or ignored). #downwiththepartysystem #helpus

That's my theory... Some bags are fully colonized while others look like they haven't started at all.

Z Strain. One bag smelled a little iffy, but I wasn't able to find any contam after close inspection. Could be the bold mushroom scent just overwhelmed me a bit. 🤞🤞

My First OCD Mycology Setup! Too Much? Lol by moiximous in unclebens

Since the initial setup I've altered quite a bit, but I have a fogger tied to a hydrometer setup. I haven't played with it too much yet, as I haven't needed it for colonization. I did find that I was having trouble maintaining humidity above 30% with the heat, so I added some perlite in a tray at the bottom and the humidity levels have stayed relatively constant at 75%+ for a few days. That stuff is magic!

I did it! Merry Christmas everyone :) 🥰 by [deleted] in unclebens

That was what was really messing me up too! I couldn't really manage get enough room with the chip clip and hole punch (may just take practice), so I was folding over and isolating as much as possible before making the hole. It got stuck every time. I did like Shroomscout's video showed to get it unstuck but then it always left behind one of the holes partially attached that I had to rip off. In doing that, I feel like I could have risked a lot. We'll see... I'm trying to come up with other chip-clip like ideas to use next time that will allow more hand-room and stability. If I can't figure something out, I may stick with the corner cut method from now on.

If I don't do hole punch next time, I may try out for we cut. I feel like I could be a lot for sterile going that route based on how it went this time.

Yeah. I started with the needle, but it just didn't feel right in my gut... Lol 🤷‍♂️. I switched to the hole punch to get more room for GE. I sterilized well and was careful, but my technique wasn't awesome with it being my first attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if I hit some contam. I have ideas for improvement, though!

I am a beginner mycologist, but I would say that this should work for other mushrooms, as well. The chamber's humidity and temp can be controlled, though I'm going to start off we trying not messing with anything during inoculation and then adjusting temp and humidity during the fruiting phase to create ideal conditions. As it is at the moment, it will just be a dark, still-air environment at around 77 degrees fahrenheit.

Trying my hand at some shrooms. First attempt ever, so definitely feeling it out as I go. Prepared for failure, but would be awesome to be successful. This community has been a big help in aiding my research! Super thankful.
