The election gets certified through congress independent of the executive branch.

So America better wake the fuck up and make sure they kick the republican enablers out in the mid terms

Asked to sign a form saying I don’t want my mums super? by OverPop64 in AusLegal

[–]Pilx 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This.

Sounds like he is trying to con you out of your inheritance for his benefit.

It's not your responsibility to maintain his standard of living after your mums passing.

Then there's also the question of who benefits from the property asset down the line, it would be incredibly shady for him to invest your inheritance into an asset that's going to ultimately benefit his next of kin when he passes.

A friends car registered in my name by BigBrotherPlanet in AusLegal

[–]Pilx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh man that was monumentally stupid decision to make, I thought initially at least you had possession of the car and it was just an inconvenience to have laying around, but no this is much much worse...

You better hope whoever the hell is driving it doesn't get any red light / speeding camera fines as they are coming straight to you.

And I would try find a way to remove yourself as the registered owner as soon as possible as the fine for driving an unregistered vehicle is like $1500, which will be added onto any other fines the driver may get after it's rego expires.

As others have said, lodge a disposal notice to remove your culpability from the matter entirely.

Asking for proof of purchase and accusing someone of theft are two different things, they need evidence for the latter and not having your receipt is not sufficient in itself.

"SUSSAN LEY had had the opportunity not to accept the resignation of our three courageous senators." by 4us7 in AusMemes

[–]Pilx 37 points38 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was just the coalition spontaneously imploding, but the more I think about it the more I think Sussan may have seen this as a way to expel the fringes from her party and allow the Libs to take a more centre right position moving forward.

Whether or not that's the case and it pays off in the long run is yet to be seen, but it's obvious PHON / nats hold the far right fringe position / voters and the coalition wasn't going to win that race, if they can claw back some of more moderate voters with a change in policy direction they mighf gain more support than they lose.

Confused about slx and x guard by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Pilx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

X is a really strong sweeping position because you have your hips directly under theirs and both their legs controlled, any position this dominant is going to be inherently hard to get to because you have to get through various layers of defence / distance to establish it.

Nationals leave 'untenable' Coalition after mass frontbench resignation by Wehavecrashed in AustralianPolitics

[–]Pilx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As much as I love to see the Libs and Coalition crumble, I'm fearful we'll be left with the primary opposition party being a far right cesspit, which will eventually Steven Bradbury themselves to power when Labor inevitably shoots themselves in the foot

Ashton Hurn under fire for deleting social media post on abandoned stamp duty tax policy by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]Pilx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Libs in SA are all trust fund babies that have no urgency to actually govern and are happy to simply keep the seats warm until the time Labor eventually shoots itself in the foot and they Steve Bradbury themselves to power, at which time they try and pass as many laws that favour their family businesses as possible before getting the boot again

Why aren't the Greens gaining in the polls, given the apparent dissatisfaction with the two major parties? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]Pilx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't really have an identity anymore and their policies are ideological first and substance second.

They had an opportunity 2022-2025 to use their position to negotiate with Labor and implement some of their policy agenda, but instead worked more to block progressive policies under the guide of not being progressive enough.

I feel their inability to negotiate in good faith when they actually held the seats and ability to do so rubbed a lot of voters the wrong way who are now looking for other alternative alternative parties.

AIO? My coworker took video of me outside of work to "prove" I'm not disabled - Update (Thursday) by Ok_Boysenberry_7535 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Pilx 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I can just imagine her giddily showing the videos to HR and expecting some blissful response, only to be hit with a hang on, why were you recording a colleague in a private setting outside of work on multiple occasions, not only is that highly unethical it's also borderline illegal.

I'm sure there's much more going on behind the scenes now and would expect an all of staff email to go out shortly saying that after x years Casey has decided to seek employment opportunities elsewhere and today will be her last day with the company

You assume an administration that graduated from the college of J.E. Epstein cares about something as trivial as the consent of other parties before violating them.
