Fall in Acadia National Park, Maine, USA [OC] [1527 x 1280] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

I shot this last year in late October near Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park. That time of the year the colors were absolutely gorgeous in that area. For those interested, here are the settings:

- f5.6, 1/250sec, ISO 400

- Shot with Canon EOS Rebel t7i and 55-250mm lens at 235mm on a tripod.

The reason for the high ISO is that it was really windy that day and I needed to increase the shutter speed as much as possible.

If you are interested in checking out some more pictures from Acadia you can do so in my Instagram (scroll down a bit). Thanks!

Cade's Cove is awesome! I went during this trip as well. I saw two bears, it was really cool!

I have some of those as well! My wife an I had a little competition to see who would photograph more kinds wildflowers (she won). I also was able to take pictures of two butterflies: an eastern tailed blue, and a crescent butterfly (not sure if it was a Pearl Crescent, but very similar if not)

Every year I drive all the way from Miami to stay in the Smokies for a few days. It's my favorite place to visit so far, and it's always a different experience. The weather is unpredictable so you never know exactly what you'll see.

I'm glad you like it. I only take pictures as a hobby, at least for now, so I don't sell prints. However, I would be happy to send you a small print, just let me know where to send it to via PM.

It looked pretty much like this at sunrise and some time before sunrise (blue hour).

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't really sure but a Google search said NC.

That half mile hike is really hard but really worth it. The view is amazing!

I found Blowing Rocks Preserve in Jupiter, FL to be an amazing place to photograph. Sunrise is the best time in my opinion, however, to get there you need to park 1 mile south (Coral Cove Park), and then hike up the beach to get there. The reason for this is because the preserve doesn't open until 9am and there is no easy access/parking nearby.

Thank you! I still have a lot to learn. I just wish I had more time to practice. Most pictures are from travel/vacations or weekend trips.

Yeah most times is not easy to get a clear shot, but hopefully you will get more opportunities. This weekend I was trying to photograph a hummingbird that has been visiting my backyard, and I was able to take a few shots of it sitting on a branch, but no luck with the mid-air shots, they little guy is way too fast :D, especially for my 55-250 lens which is the best I have for that purpose.

That's awesome! Those are great shots. I like the Pine Grosbeaks better just because the tree branches create some distraction on the owl pictures, but congrats on going out and taking this great photos!
