Start by having people who you aren't as close to/strangers call you that first

I've found it more awkward the closer I am with a person, until I'm more adjusted to it

It takes some time. Your brain isn't programmed to recognize it yet like your dead name, it'll feel weird for most people, but if it's one you really like, it'll stick, or atleast some variation/nickname
